I truly despise the draft eligible sophomore thing.

There’s already an avenue to enroll in college and still get drafted early. It’s called juco. I don’t see the point in the draft eligible sophomore.


I guess maybe it brings some guys to school that would’ve went pro out of high school knowing they could leave early.

Now I’m by no means a minor league/draft guru so maybe there’s a benefit that I’m not considering.

Regardless there’s nothing college baseball can do about it. The MLB can draft whoever they please.

I have a buddy in mobile Alabama that started his kids at 6 years old, his son plays baseball and is 17 and gonna be a junior, he throws about 85, so maybe it’s all worth it, but regardless travel ball is mainly what gets you noticed!
