you also think Rich Rod is a bad OC because he's defense is shite
Hey, I never said RichRod was a bad OC!

I stand firmly behind Crowton, because I know first-hand that he is one of brightest OCs in the country.
If you enjoy watching Scott go in motion during a similar Wildcat formation and Lee running the option.
A brilliant OC adjusts his playbook for whoever is in. Crowton doesn't do this at all. He keeps the same plays rolling, no matter personnel. Plus, his playcalling gets predictable when new players come in. Its the same for a great DC. See the Saints this year...he specifically adjusts his scheme to who is on the field. That is how you know you have a brilliant coordinator.
Crowton's "brilliance" is overrated at this point.

We should never have a bad o-line. It has really shut down our rushing game.
I have been somewhat disappointed in the O-line as well, but then started thinking.... how much of this is because everyone knew JJ was still young and the ability to pass at will (and def. run the option) is poor, coupled with the fact that we had Scott all set to pound the rock. So the pressure on the O-line was just paramount to keep up non-stop run blocking with so little threat to do anything else?
Good post. Five lineman can't block eight defenders. LSU had to move a lineman to FB because none of the others could block.
The Rant says JJ is a good passer but opposing DCs disagree thus stacking the box.
JJ has missed wide open receivers all year.
If all it takes to make a QB is coaching, then all the critics on the Rant could be QB.

What would happen if say Michigan comes calling for Miles an he jumps ship?

I know I didn't have high expectations for our offense this year...mainly due to the QB position.
I never liked the inexperienced QB/C combo

Well, watching the games over this season. Its pretty obvious the problem is o-line/QB.
I've seen sooooooooo many wide open WRs...you wouldn't believe how many missed opportunities LSU has had this year. Its all due to JJ going through his first two reads, then getting happy feet...

With the way Jefferson has progressed (see: Tulane, Auburn, Alabama), I'm pretty excited about his ability to lead a high-powered Tiger offense in 2010.
Jefferson has played one solid game: Auburn. Prior to that, he was very mediocre and downright awful v. Florida. He was not as good v. Tulane as he was v. Auburn and he was average v. Bama. I do take comfort that he did not implode against Bama. And I'm hopeful he is turning the corner. These next two games will be interesting. Both teams have SEC defenses but are not as stout as Florida and Bama. If JJ plays well, then there is cause for optimism. If he plays poorly...

Jmo but I disagree. I think Crowton will be gone. Reasons - the offense has looked worse each year under Crowton and its his responsibility to coach the QBs, he could have done a better job last year and gotten JJ on the field earlier in the season.
Miles is a hard one to figure out but after every press conference this year he has said our offense should have done this or that. I think thats about a far as Miles goes without just saying - Hey this sucks.
If our offense didnt seem so disjointed I think Crowton would have a chance to come back. I think hes gone whether you call fired/asked to find another job or whatever.

LSU needs a dedicated QB coach. Period. Crowton calling down to his QBs from the booth isn't going to cut it. Much less Crowton's overrated history with QBs.
I'd rather a coach show him what hes doing wrong, rather than call down, "Hey JJ, you can't throw that in Cover 2".

>70% chance that GC will not return from what I hear. My personal belief is close to 90%. Contrary to what many posters on this board believe, Coach is not a football idiot. You don't go 50-13 regardless of talent, not knowing how to coach.
As I mentioned earlier, Coach and GC had a heated discussion after the UF game. This will play out just like the Co-D coordinators last year. There will be new OC at end of the year, and don't believe the Borges stuff people are posting on here.

I don't care how good his "Football" knowledge is. Miles is just as responsible for the offensive woes, as Crowton.
Miles inability to hire great coordinators.
Miles inability to recruit the trenches better on both sides. Someone please post the attrition we've had on both DL/OL since Miles came here?
Miles inability to recruit QBs better, so we're not in this position. If he didn't put all the eggs in the basket with Ryan, we might actually have someone decently developed by now.
I can keep going. Miles gets a free pass because hes on a 3.5 million+ contract, won a NC and I doubt they'll want to pay the rest when hes fired. Hes every bit responsible for this team's problem right now.

Give an example of what you can't throw against a cover two?

A inaccurate pass...
If he had someone on the sidelines with him, maybe he could show and point out bad mechanics as he goes along. Maybe show him exactly what the defense is playing and where the holes are? Or maybe just light a fire under his arse and make him play better? Who knows maybe he'll be more comfortable talking to someone in person? Lots of advantages talking to a QB coach in person...rather than on the phone.

Good post Chicken.
The Rantardedness on the Positiger side claims that every critique of the LSU coaching staff means you want everyone fired, instead of just wanting them to improve their performance.

false. There are 120 division 1 teams, so the bottom 10% is nos. 109-120. We're clearly NOT in the bottom 10%.

How would you do it? How did your coach do it?
Be specific!
