The 247 guy said most of the fan base would be happy about it. LSU would be allowing them to unload Bianco and upgrade.

Bingo! Corbin has been the guy and I have been saying it for a week and am sticking to what I was told. He will be the next coach at LSU. Just need to work on the final money number.

It’s Friday and we have nothing. Maybe Scone and Bianco are playing footsies on the beach.

That may be the case...but it also seems like a risk to put your eggs in that basket. Corbin has his program at the top of the CBB mountain and they might be the favorites to get there again at the CWS. Does he REALLY want to come to LSU and start all over with a new program?

This seems more like a big leverage ploy against Vanderbilt. Particularly if they win the championship. He and his agent know Woodward will spend huge money for a HC. So use that to run up his market value before walking into the Vandy AD's office as saying: "Well, it looks like we are the ONLY sport in the whole athletic dept. worth a shite here. You need to match the sum LSU is willing to pay to make sure that continues."

LSU is one of the few places that will give a CBB coach a big contract. They are desperate to get back to winning NCs and have an AD with the rep of handing out LARGE contracts. If there was EVER a school/job opening to use as leverage, the LSU baseball job is it. And the fact that you say "just need to work on the final money number" suggest this is a leverage play. NOTHING is a "done deal" until the money is agreed upon. The fact that it isn't tells you a lot.

If the smoke does not turn in to fire by today, that means our guy is still coaching.

Next clue….think Va va va va va. Just interview. This is all i know

So you’re saying they’re interviewing O’Connor today in Omaha?

He’s certainly not my top choice, not even in my Top3, but I have found it curious that his name hasn’t come up more in the media as a potential candidate.

Like I mentioned, it's now being confirmed that Bianco's first in person interview was Thursday.
