Will he back to returning punts. That's where he could really shine

He named one GREAT receiver. He named several good receivers.

Before he set foot on campus it was said he would play both ways probably his Junior season by his dad and Coach O. And the decision is all on Stingley, Jr., if he chooses to. But if he has hopes of winning the Heisman he’ll need to do so.

I think it shows their confidence in DM2 to be able to have a serious impact in the secondary like he was doing in spring. Kid is another legit lockdown corner.

Just give the kid a few jet sweeps here and there and call it day

he opted for a fair catch on almost every punt last year. Not aggressive IMO.

Then you should know that the same source has been on local radio segment recently and confirmed that they have scrapped the idea of Stingley playing offense because "that's not what he's going to be doing in the pros."

What this offense is missing, from an otherwise very good receiver corps, is a guy who can run a fly route, and just dominate the defender on high pointing the ball. Chase gave us that in 2019. As great as Boutte is, that's not his thing. Stingley could give you that.

If we used Stingley this way it means we'd have to sit him on defense some. This depends on how some of our corners progress.

If he is healthy, let him shine as much as possible.

They might have a play or two where Peetz might have him as an option or as a decoy just to mess with opposing coaches.

As long as Devonta smith isn’t lined up against him we should be fine.

I heard him say the same thing a few weeks back, on OTB, but he didn't imply he was still of that frame of mind. He and his son will make millions, if he is healthy, playing Pro ball. He is not going throw away a lottery ticket.
We will be fortunate, if he gets nicked, and he doesn't opt out.
IMO, that is more probable than him playing offense.
