I've said 8&4 for 6 months. I hope they win more games but the Qb has to really step up if its going to happen.

Its a shame, Cause they have the talent[aside from the QB] to be 10-2 easy.

LSU makes it to Atlanta this year.

Aren't we guaranteed to make it there this year? We open the season there against North Carolina. If you're talking about getting there for a second time this season, then yes, I think we do have a shot at the Chick-Fil-A Bowl.

Jefferson is going to be fine. Go watch the Alabama game last year and see how many times the o-line completely misses their assignment...leaving Jefferson exposed for the big hit.

The kid's got plenty of talent to make it in the SEC and even in the NFL. He needs confidence...something these coaches crush.

I've been one of the bigger negatigers on this board, but things are starting to set up right for LSU.
All we need is for that O-Line to gel together and we will push for Atlanta and maybe for the MNC.

I say this because I think we will recommit to the run, the defense should be quick and nasty (also causing lots of turnovers), and the offense will hit repeated big plays against the D.

I like Jordan Jefferson at QB. The guy has a lot of talent and a lot of heart, he was hung out to dry last year with no rushing attack and terrible play calling. If we mix it up right and get the ball to the receivers in space...watch out.

This could be a special year...it's up to the coaches to make the right calls (something we've been lacking the past few years). Don't be surprised if they do and LSU knocks some heads.
You named about 20 "if's" in 3 paragraphs. I agree with you 'if' all of that happens, we would have a shot at the SECCG. The odds of all of those if's happening in one season is very small.

Which i think will happen..Hurst is a beast at RT..Dworacyzk is good and Barksdale will protect the blind side of Jefferson well imo

Hopefully. I think that throwing the ball against LSU will be risky at best with all of the talent we have in the defensive backfield. You look at guys like an All-American and future All-Pro corner in PP..then you have up and coming star Morris Claiborne on the other side..then at the safety spots, Eugene should be quicker as he adjusts to his new position..Loston is a beast just waiting to smack a wideout going across the middle, and we still have Brandon Taylor and Hatcher improving..

As far as D-line, we are young, but pretty deep and talented across teh board. Linebackers, though thin, should be led and led well by senior Kelvin Sheppard, who is All-SEC. I really like the way the D is shaping up for this year and years to come. Chavis will mold it into a ferocious D that LSU is known for.

We have so many talented starters it's quite an embarrassment. Running backs are STACKED. Wideouts..STACKED..TE's..VERY TALENTED(Peterson receiving and Joseph/Dickson/Edwards blocking)..If Jefferson can get ANYTHING going on Offense, this team will be TOUGH to stop..

Yes..big IF..but i think that Crowton realizes this is not only a make or break year for HIM..but for the ENTIRE STAFF..he won't let us down..mark my words(or at least take them into consideration..).

I won't be surprised..I've said all along this team will go 10-2, possibly better if we make some big plays in the biggest games of the year..4th in the west is a COMPLETE JOKE...Who is better? Only Alabama comes to mind..

Arkansas??? Maybe at quarterback, but even with their hailed All-SEC quarterback, we can beat them with our defense and they cannot stop our O at it's best..

Auburn???Give me a BREAK! New qb..Good defense but not good enough to completely shut down LSU..I look for a 4th straight victory against them this year, in what should be a better game but nontheless an LSU win..

Ole Miss???Ok..i know we lost to them last year in a game we SHOULD HAVE WON..but GIVE ME A BREAK! OLE MISS??? We have more talent at one position than that whole team on the respective side of the ball..We will send them out of Death Valley sore and hurting after an embarrassing loss to the tigahs..

Florida and Alabama are the two biggest games of the year after UNC..if we can prove that our offense can gel, we will be 5-0 going into the swamp with a load of confidence and a rising junior playcaller with a plethora of offensive talent on his side..moreso than ANY SEC squad..and yes, alabama, i mean you, too..
