Does the LSU administration understand the definition of Supply and Demand?

Spare me the "recruiting reasons" Bs. This administration has proven time and time again they don't know what they hell they are doing, and they are going to give Ed Orgeron more money.

Why? Because he exceeded extremely low expectations that were brought on because he was a terrible hire in the first place? Because he's "trending up"?

Ed Orgeron should be judged on his 2019 result. The thought of him having a raise should not be brought up until after the 2019 season.

Stop bitching.

We have a top-tier team for half the coaching costs of top-tier programs.

* that's exaggerated a little, but you get my point.

It's not your money. Why do you give a frick? There is nothing more irrelevant than coaching salaries. I has no affect on you.

And before you chime in with some ticket prices bullshite, LSU is going to charge market rates for those, regardless of coaching salaries.

I don't remember them decreasing ticket prices after Orgeron was hired at a cheaper price than Miles.

Your opinion is your opinion, but it's still the wrong one. Top programs in college football will not allow their head coach to approach a lame duck season.

You may not agree with it, but recruiting is one of those reasons, amongst others. If you want to place blame, place it on the culture in NCAA football.

Don’t buy them then if this upsets you so much

I’m an avid O basher, but this raise is relative chump change and the buyout is extremely fair for both sides

People are just whining like babies about this

Are you saying LSU doesn't have one of the highest coaching staff salaries?

Why can't this be addressed after 2019? Why is LSU rushing to do this today?

Is LSU on the recruiting trail for 2019 or 2020? Once you figure that out, you'll get your answer.

What does it matter. This $10 million buyout basically guarantees he won’t be fired after this season

Guess what, outside of a Major off field scandal, there is no realistic scenario where he’d be fired after this season

I for one agree with you. He hasn't done anything special to deserve a raise, or an extension at this point of his coaching career.

Unless the administration thinks finishing third in the west is some great accomplishment.

Ed O was not being fired after this season anyway. You guys act like he will he making Saban money. He is still going to be on the lower end of coaches salary in the sec.

The scenario of a recruit or his parent asking Orgeron the following question:

Coach, why isnt your contract extended to a year in which I'll be a junior or senior

Is just as likely as:

Coach, why should I come to LSU when you are making half of what Saban, Dabo, Kirby Smart, Dan Mullen, etc. are making? Why is LSU paying it's HC so low?

He exceeded expectation because a bunch of "top 10" teams turned out to be awful.

MSU, Miami, and Auburn were atrocious compared to expectations this year. Then got to play UCF without their stud QB and barely won. Spare me the "LSU was missing a ton of players too". UCF was literally missing their entire key to success on offense in any form.

If they REALLY want to start recruiting at an even high level, they should not pay him like a bottom 5 HC in the SEC

Did coach O manipulate things in any way that caused any of the above to happen as it did or did he just play out things as they were laid out?

If the answer is the latter then you should shut the frick up.
