How can you say they don't look like the #2 team in the nation? This series is between two of the top five teams in the nation, in my opinion, and Florida and Kentucky are right there with us. If they were to make the CWS and somehow LSU didn't, I'll be pulling for USCe just like I did the last two years.

I thought we looked much better in both games.

They won the last two national titles and didn't really have a wow factor. They know how to win. That's all that really matters.
That is what I was trying
With their 2 titles and #2 ranking, I thought SC would have more individual standouts, players who looked like they are on the fast track to MLB.
I didn't see a Zunino, Pigott, or Snyder - a guy you would say "I never want to see him up to the plate again."

In game 1 Guasman was just great for nine innings.
In game 2, you have to give USC credit for battling back from being down 0-3. When their OF made the great catch and doubled us up that seemed to swing the momentum. And when we had a golden opportunity to get it back Edwards pops-up the bunt.
Point being they made some clutch plays and we didn't. So they certainly looked like the #2 team at that point.

LSU & SC are both great teams with at least one great coach, and one really good coach between them.
UF & UK are really good too.
All good yardsticks against each other, all better than the rest of the country, including the ACC choke teams.

to be honest, i was one of PM's biggest critics to start this year. I think what he has done with this team is remarkable. I think we have good players but I don't think this is an overly talented team outside of the pitching staff but we look like we belong in the national seed conversation again.

KG has been outstanding. Eades, Nola, McCune have had their moments but are inconsistent. The relief pitching (less Goody last week vs Vandy) has been stellar. I think most of us felt like we would struggle to score lots of runs.
At this juncture:
Hitting - 'bout as expected
Def - missing Ty Ross now but for the most part our D has been good.
Starting P - little disappointed. Had really hoped Nola/Eades would be KG like.
Relief P - A+
