worried about miss st physical style? WHAT THE frick MAN.

FLORIDA/LSU 07.. now that was physical.

Our guys tackle hard, and run to the ball..but we have a bunch of sophomore and freshman upfront in the trenches

They haven't been really challenged yet...that is my point that I trying to draw out.

As we get deeper into the SEC, we will find out how all world these guys really are...

I love em, but I still have concerns because of the youth and lack of experience...DE's at 245 can get run over in this league..

Our team is build on speed, quickness and power, but teams like Bama will really test our front line by pounding and pounding...wearing us down...

Yeah I feel like this too. Seems like this defense was built to handle Oregon and similar spread teams.

Their style of play would concern me, but they don't have our depth. We're 10 deep on the Front 4, and we have talent at LB, though not quite enough depth. Our Secondary is amazing. We will simply stack the box and make them execute with Relf through the air.

I'll take LSU's chances against Relf throwing against Press Man coverage. Auburn's Secondary is horrid, and they kept the the ball on the ground. That should tell you something about what they think of Relf's aerial ability.

I'll also take our Front 4 to generate significant push against an already weak OL that's missing two starters.

On the ground, their QB ran the ball 26 times againts Auburn last week. LSU is salivating like a Pavlovian Dog at the idea that he'll take off that many times against LSU.

MSU is going to have to throw against us, and any team that does that is going to be in trouble. This team can get a push off the edge, has depth at DL, & can play Man against any team left on our schedule and hang with them.

Go buy a dog, or pay more attention to the game and our opponents, bro. Your lack of football knowledge is showing. And it looks bad.

I think MSU will test our front 7 more than Oregon did IMHO...

I agree, I think if LSUs D has a weak spot its here. The guys rotating in get small very quickly. A big physical offensive line will be a real test for us.

I agree...but some posters think I am an idiot for suggesting our young Tigers will be challenged Thursday night...because I simply lack football knowledge

Have you even looked at our roster? We have other guys that are just as good at de that are bigger than 245. You must strictly be talking about mingo and adams and forgetting the whole rest of the dline depth chart. We lost 2 srs last year and were two deep at every position. These guys have played against top sec teams before.

There is plenty of competition now for Dan Mullen to grade his Miss State team with. In the 2011 team of these LSU tigers.
LSU this season has a experience offensive line, and strong and fast running backs. And also now, two good QB. The LSU 2011 Offense is better then last year.
The LSU Defense looked like a very fast pressing unit with LSU players getting to the football very fast over the past two game. Holding the high powered Oregon offense back enough. That LSU rolled to Victory. 47-27 final. In the last week LSU game opponent Northwestern State, Southland Conference. They were simply stopped cold. 95 yards total Offense. 49-3.
So Miss State now has the opponent of the upper crust in college football that Mullen and Miss State wants. Mullen and his team has a chance to beat LSU. At the home field of coach Mullen team...Tonight.

A lot of people think that just because Oregon and Miss State run a similar type of offense, its a foregone conclusion that the results will be the same

I think the result will be the same because:
We have better players.
We have more depth.
We actually have a winning team with great tradition.
We have better coaching and better leadership.
We have one of the premier D coord. in the nation
We have some serious mojo this season, the team has bought into the direction and believe in themselves.
Last but not least, we have the Mad Hatter!!

Waaaayyyyyy too many people are buying into the hype for MooU. ESPN is playing up the 'upset' angle to get viewers - PERIOD. All this talk of Scott Field being intimidating is utter nonsense. State's defense is lackluster, it's O-line is getting thin, and Relf has shown that he can be rattled.

A LOT of bettors are going to get hosed on this one, and Vegas will be laughing all the way to the bank.
