How do you know Garrett is SEC quality? He has yet to play a down of college football.

I thought JJ improved over the course of the year as well but not so much that he is untouchable when it comes to the starting job. He improved and he showed that he could protect the football. Given that, Garrett would have to be better than good to replace him. He'd have to be insanely good.

Chris Garrett will hopefully earn the starting job this spring

No way. If Jefferson crashes and burns he is still the QB. You guys know how loyal Miles is. If Jefferson starts the season he finishes. Even if LSU goes 7-5 or 8-4 with a 4-4 SEC record this is plenty good enough for Miles. Jefferson can do this good and for Miles and the LSU nation this is good enough. Really, no way Garrett plays even if Jefferson does terrible.

how easily you forget. If that was the case Lee would still be starting. Just another Miles myth created by ranturds.

Hell, there was a vocal contingent on here that thought JL should have been given the chance to show that he was the "real deal" right up to the La Tech game.

Miles would have to want to comit coaching suicide to go into a third straight season with a new QB with little to no experience.

I hope that Garrett is the "Real Deal" and gets to compete.

As far as experience, How much did Snead have his first year at Ole Miss ?

What about Brantley next year at Florida, what does he have ? 15 minutes of total mop up time in Florida blowouts?

I am pulling for JJ, but if he is not the guy, then bring on Garrett and Shep.

I have never seen a player that is avg as JJ get as much hype as he gets.

Obv having an allsec qb playing for us is a good thing. So I hope you are right, however as of today I just dont see it.
JJ wasnt any better vs ark than he was vs Wash.
Guy's best game by far was last yrs peach bowl.
Maybe he will work harder this spring/summer than he did last.

Against Washington:
11-19 172 3TDs 0INTs Cmp% 57.9
8 rushes 42yd QB rating: 186.05

Against Arkansas:
17-25 179 2TDs 1INTs Cmp% 68.0
11 rushes 33yd QB rating: 146.54

Against G. Tech: (chicken sammich bowl)
9-21 143 2TDs 0INTs Cmp% 42.9
19 rushes 50yd QB rating: 97.9

he was best his first and last game this year and against Auburn and Tulane, so don't try to say that he isn't improving

Your just a dummy man.

I think that someone with the talent of John Elway could come to LSU and sit on the bench for at least 2 years until Miles finally found out what he could do. That person would come in, throw for 2-3 touchdowns, and then sit on the bench for the second half of the game and possibly not play again until the end of the season. (Ask Charles Scott about the Kentucky game 2 years ago).

CG should get a legit shot at the job.

Do you honestly believe CG would overtake JJ for the starting job?

I know he SHOULD get a legit shot, but do you honestly think he will?

Chris is going to be like matt flynn was. he is going to play 2nd up until JJ leaves . CG is an outstanding QB tho he really is good. Rminds me of matt Flynn, with an arm like JR.

I haven't seen anyone claiming that Jefferson has the talent of John Elway, but i do see where you are going with the comparison. Both have strong arms and are fairly mobile. But i don't think that's a fair comparison at this time, give it a couple more years and then we can make comparisons. I do like your optimism in his potential though.
