Research is usually useful for this kind of stuff. I dont think it will be this year. The committee is looking at alot more than just rpi this year, which will likely be good for lsu. Theyve referenced kpi for a few years now, and now theyve introduced DSR and net rankings. So while rpi is a reference point, it wont be the only one

Are you ok w. losing a game or two v South Carolina? It could happen-- I heard that same sort of talk in the MBB season, and sure enough we lost a game to that team, and lost big.

LSU baseball is displaying all the earmarks of a team which won't enjoy the postseason. Subpar pitching, both starters and relief, and now injuries, have thrust a collosal monkeywrench on the yellow brick road to Omaha this year. There's an odor of disappointment lingering

Of course, it could happen; sweeping is difficult, but I would be completely surprised if LSU lost two.

Has South Carolina won any SEC away games this season? Nope.

How many games have they won outside of Founders Park? 1 vs Wofford, who is not a bad team. But they are still 1-10 outside of Founders Park and 2-10 in conference 0-6 away & 2-4 at home. They have not won an SEC series.

Are you seriously comparing the MBB teams? Come on, man.

LSU lost in the PMAC and won in Colonial Life. Two really bad teams there.

Subpar pitching,

Medicre is a better characterization, and I would say improving in terms of the weekend starters and primary relief guys. Cooper Moore is expected back for the A&M series, though maybe not as a starter just yet.

and now injuries

From what Jay said, there is a reasonable chance we will see Serna, Dardar, and Stanfield all available for this weekend.

Only if you want there to be.
