This may be a shock to you but sometimes the recruiting rankings aren't perfect
I never said they measure production. But people that get paid to evaluate talent all agree that when JHILL was LF'S age, he wasn't as talented

these are what the people who get PAID to evaluate talent had to say about Hill's class and where the ended up. Not saying Fournette will end up the same, but basically, what they say about a high school player's potential basically means dick for future production expectancy
1. Malcolm Brown - Texas - 5 star- UDFA
2. James Wilder - FSU - 5 star - UDFA (practice squad behind, you guessed it, J hill)
3. Brandon Williams - OU - 5 star - UDFA
4. Isiah Crowell - UGA - 5 star - UDFA
5. Mike Bellamy - Clemson - 5 star - CFL
6. Mike Blakley - Florida to Auburn to USF - 4 star - ???
7. Savon Huggins - Rutgers to N Iowa - 4 star - ???
8. Aaron Green - Nebraska to TCU - 4 star - still playing
9. Kenny Hilliard - LSU - 4 star - 7th round
10. Devonta Freeman - FSU - 4 star - 4th round
The three best from that class were Tre Mason at #14, Hill #21 and Melvin Gordon at #24. Talent evaluation in high school doesn't mean shite bud. Choose to ignore it all you want

I have seen zero evidence of this....

I never said JHILL didn't have a good year.
Well you said he wasn't KILLING it... Describe what this means??? Have you found those rb's that have avgd 100 a game the last 5 years in the NFL yet?????

Who said anything close to this? All I said was LF is more talented and he is.
Jeremy Hill 20 year old with Zach Mettenberger has his qb.
5.3 yards per carry
Leonard Fournette 19 year old with Anthony Jennings
5.5 yards per carry AND LED THE SEC IN ALL PURPOSE YARDS.
Was 2nd in the sec in yards per kick return
And led the sec in all purpose yards per game.

I am not going to argue this... He had a real good year for a true freshman and having real bad QB play....

Killing it is at least top 5 rushing yards per game. Or yards per rush in the nfl. Again. I love HIll. I just think LF has more natural talent. That's it

He played a whole lot more than Hill did the before the Fla game... All I remember from Hill is that he came in to pass block the 1st 6 games.. LF had way more carries in his 1st 6 games than Hill did..
All I said was they were comparable.... high praise for Fournette given that in the next year, Hill would rank third in the NCAA in yards per carry (200+ carries), and as an NFL rookie, would rank second in the NFL in yards per carry.

well since you mentioned it, Hill was 3rd in the NFL among RBs in yards per carry. Anything else you want to know?

I don't know that LF will ever reach JHILL'S production. I just think he has more god given talent than Hill.

Well Hill didn't really start getting a lot of his carries until game 5-6. So he avg 64 yds per game based on playing the whole season in which he didn't do. And BTW based on at least 200 carries.. Hill had the second highest YPC in the whole league.....

And that's you.... I think they are pretty even... The year Hill was suspended he came to our office looking for work he could do the year he had to wait... He & I sat at our table in the office for over an hour and he said straight up to me that he would end up being better than Hilliard and Ford and Mcgee and anyone else on the team.. He turns out to be right.... What he did in the Iowa game showed me how much talent he really had.....

OK but LF is far more talented than all those rb's too.

He is very talented, but the god given talent of LF doesn't come around very often.
Since 2011 only 1 rb has been ranked in the top 5 of overall recruits. It was LF.
A rb being the #1 overall recruit isn't the norm. It's the outlier.

Gotta agree here....given an equal number of carries over the life of their careers at LSU....ya gotta figure Buga will surpass JHs production.

Neither does Hill's...I don't care wat any recruiting site says... I noticed you haven't made a comment on the post that shows where the top rb's were ranked coming out of 2011 and where they are now..........

Tied for 2nd but I get your point.
One of his runs ( the 85 yards which was epic) made his ypc gp from 4.7 to 5.1.
I'm not saying he shouldn't get credit for it because it was great.im just pointing it out.
I love HIll and it was a pleasure to watch him play. I knew when he was in the game he could take it to the house at any moment.

What did fournette's 90+ yard run against Norte dame do for his ypc?

When did I say he wasnt?
He was also 12th in carries.wirh increased carries your ypc almost always goes down.
Like I said. JHill had a great year. My subjective definition of ,"Killing It" is top 5 in yards or yards per game. But we are arguing semantics. So yeah I agree JHILL killed it his rookie year

Way to nitpick... Ok. But LF's 89 yard td run against ND tainted his ypc...Just sayin............

So if LF has more carries this year, his ypc will go down?

but as far as pure talent LF is more god given talent than Hill.
If you define talent as size/speed ratio, you are definitely right.
If you define talent as size, speed, vision, and wiggle, I'm not sure that has been decided yet. For the record, I think vision and wiggle are more important than speed for RBs.
And, that's not a knock on LF. Hill is a stud. Fournette may end up being the "better" back, but if that happens it's because he starts to show better vision and wiggle than he showed us last year (which is a reasonable expectation).
