Has any LSU rb ever rushed for more than 1,700 yards?...the answer is no. Too much runningback by committee to keep LF's legs fresh. Williams & Guice will both get plenty of touches to spell LF. Only way he gets close to that, is if we play 15 games(I hope that happens).

That's a huge expectation for a Sophomore even LF. 1400-1500 range is more realistic for a superb season.

He'd have to average 150 yds per game to pull it off.

No for the simple fact we are loaded at RB. If we ran our backs like rented mules like they do at UGA the yea it's possible.

He will get close to 2000 depends on if Miles holds his carries down during blowout non conf games

For 1,800 yards, he'd need to average 120 a game

Not in a Miles offense... Miles will share the load.. LF would need 25-28 carries a game to reach this and Miles will not do that to him... Jeremy Hill was just as good if not better than LF and Miles did not use him like that........

Jeremy Hill was also suspended for two games the year he rushed for 1400.

That's a ton of yards. If he averages 5 per carry he's going need about 27 carries per game. I don't see him getting the rock that much but it's not impossible

Well he got 5.5 as a Frosh with no passing game to be seen.

I think he can get 6 YPC easily this year. 12 games thats 25 carries a game. If we hit 13 games he'd need 23 carries a game.

Yeah that'll still be tough

He'll be lucky to get 1200 with our stable behind him. It would be nice to see Miles turn him loose though

People like to say we have too many options at RB, but do we really?
LF will be the primary back, no question to that.
D Williams is a bruiser and will get his fair share.
Guice and Brossette are both freshmen. Neither have taken a single snap in D1 ball. Yes both have the tangibles to be excellent backs, but at this point it's not about their skill and more about the mental aspect.
We saw last year with a freak of human being in LF that it took a little while to adjust to D1 football. I'm hoping Guice and Brossette both adjust as well as LF has, but there's nothing there yet to base them on. It opens the door for LF to get that many more carries.

That said, I still don't think he hits 1800 yards though I'd love to see it.

Yup. But played with a way better qb and offense....

LF doesn't have that luxury.....

Agreed. If he gets 1800 yards he's going to average more than 6 ypc.

We need to talk regular season. If not, you don't know if the season has 13, 14, or 15 games.

So, assuming 12 games, that would be 150 yards per game. At 6 ypc that's 25 carries per game. I think Fournette will be the bell cow, but I'm guessing he averages 22 or 23 carries. If so, he'd need almost 7 ypc to get to 1800.

We don't know what we have on offense just yet... and Fournette has the potential to play in 15 games this year.

15 games, 20 touches per game, 6 yards per carry = 1800.

Easily is a relative term. With the way he progressed throughout the season, I don't see any reason he won't get 6 ypc this season. It is the SEC, so it's never going to be easy. I think he can get to 6.5 ypc this year. That would require a little over 21 carries/gm. Ridley had 19 carries/gm in 2010. I don't think 20/gm would be too much wear and tear.

Again, I'm always surprised at the lack of talent recognition. Fournette is considerably better than Hill. Hill is very good. He might be an NFL all star two or three years. Fournette will be in the HOF (barring bad injury).

Could he? Absolutely. Will he? I think he will be our bell cow with carrying the ball, but our history shows that we use 3-4 running backs, which I think is a good thing for many reasons and good for both the team and the player!

For LF to eclipse 1800 yards over 13 games averaging 5 yards a carry, he would have to average 28 carries a game, and I am not sure that will happen.
