Last 2 years we can blame his inconsistency, and lack of good judgement on his age and "still developing" mentality. As a third year starter there will be no excuses anymore. For the people who know what is going on, is garrett ready to take over? Ive had high hopes for the last two years before the season, and ended with a bad taste. So this year Im going in thinking we suck so I wont be as disappointed.

Really? Do you really want to count those two starts as a freshman as the whole year?

This is exactly what you need to do.

Actually he had a ridiculously high accuracy rate so he was pretty consistant.

I believe JL is the one with mental issues

Second....try to count it again. And if that is the case then JL has a chance to be a third year starter as well.

Jefferson is serviceable, but the jury is still out on whether he can "take it over" as Miles put it. Hopefully we can get the running game going this year to open up the play action and not have the guy sitting back there with 3rd and 10s.

Jefferson did NOT have a "bad" year. A solid/improved running game will make him look very good. (see ga tech)

I'm curious. If Jefferson has a very good year, what do people say?

are you pulling for our qb and o.c. to have a great year or are you pulling for failed qb play and poor offense to be right in your analysis?

It seems that Crowton tries to get away from the running game more and more each year. The way we run the pistol offense shows this. I guess I am more old school and feel like you need a good fullback and run the I form.

Im pulling for a good year for Crowton and Jefferson. People that cheer for losses so people get fired really piss me off. I was just saying that I am not building myself up this year like I have for the last 2 seasons. With the amount of talent we have we shouldnt have to struggle with the likes of Arkansas and Ole Miss. Alabama and Florida are understandable because they have the same if not better talent level.

I'm not sure we have any of those "people" here, but since Chris is running at #3, my best guess would be that he isn't ready to take over...at this time.

A regular season of 9-3, a major bowl invite, and a national ranking left you with a bad taste?

You must have had to go into the hospital after 08, huh.

They both are awful. Glad I cleared that up.

if garrett was forced into starting, i'd shoot myself in the face. 6 starting QBs in 5 years is not the way to build consistency or a winner.

06-Russell
07-Flynn
08-Hatch/Lee
09-Jefferson

we ran the ball more in 08 than we did in 07. That was with 1 less game and 2 blowouts where we had to throw the whole 2nd half. We ran the ball almost the same amount last year.

Bama runs it too

LSU agrees with this, but we didn't have a good fullback or Oline last year

he started two games in 08, and both should have been wins, if not for kicking footballs and defense being out of place.

The spin on the rant is making me dizzy

you will be happy this year. we actually will have a fullback this year. something we didn't have due to johnson being gone to g.b.

we will have a bigger o-line and a f.b. this year. major improvement. These two things hurt the run game, hurt the pass protection, and hurt the offense. We had talent at wr's and rb on offense. we lacked talent at o-line and full back. We lacked experience at qb, The "all this talent" cry from people doesn't really fly.

I think JJ will be ok in his 4th year. It is too bad his red shirt year was burned, he really could have used it.

I don't think JJ has issued any excuses. He has handled it well. You are confusing JJ supporters with JJ.

Had to do this more last year with the loss of QJohnson and no true FB to replace. Even experimented with CScott at FB with KWilliams a few times. Poor Line and no FB necessitated the pistol and increased reliance on pass, given the constant 3rd and long we had all season.

Starting another sophomore at QB?

Miles has already seen that movie. No way, unless JJ and JL both get run over and are in wheelchairs. . .
