What I said was he can't tackle worth shite!

Stats through 6 games: Jack Pyburn leads ALL DE’s and DT’s with 17 tackles. The next closest DE/DT has 12 and 8 respectively.

Remember 2021 when LSU hosted Auburn? War Eagle had not won in Tiger Stadium in over 20 years. Bo Nix was sacked 0 times and ran , scrambled all over the LSU defense. LSU lost 24-19 and made Nix look like Johnny Unitas. Based on your logic from “tackling” and “sacks” , players on the team such as Damon Clark, Micah Baskerville, BJ Olujari, Ali Gaye, Mason Smith, and Neil Farrell must have sucked because they had no sacks and couldn’t wrap up.

Quite apparent you’ve never played football (defense) as you have 0 clue.

This. He’s basically a DE playing QB who is also fast as shite. Pyburn played well and has all year.

You can't really blame our players for missing tackles on sellers, but I will say I feel like every game I've watched for a decade, when we're going to sack a mobile quarterback, we fly by them as fast as we can like someone out of a slingshot with their hair on fire. And usually just fly right by them..

You know the best way I know when I'm right. It is when the rebuttals are little more than 1) namecalling 2) you didn't watch the game 3) you never played football, blah, blah, blah

The bottom line is Pyburn is NOT a good tackler. And as far as putting pressure on the QB, join the club. SC OL was shite! That is why SC runs 60% of the time and yet is LAST in the SEC in rushing yardage even with a dual threat QB. LSU rushers would putting pressure on Sellars all along the LOS. So please, keep up the namecalling because I have the FACTS on my side! Pyburn simply misses way too many tackles....excuses won't change that

Which one of your buddies in the trailer park told you that Perkins has the ability to freelance??

Kelly and Blake Baker are next to me in the trailer park. That is why THEY have said...many times BTW. They have said they were going to move him around and not have him with the same responsibilities on every play. Psst, that is freelancing, Einstein. Webster's definition: "a person who pursues a profession without a long-term commitment to any one employer". Substitute position on the field to profession and responsibility to one employer, and that is EXACTLY what Perkins is supposed to do out there. The problem is he is not an impact player like they hoped. If you believe otherwise, I challenge you to predict which All SEC team he will make.

Hey GED wannabe, next time you question someone's intelligence I suggest you know the difference between "your" and "you're". Psst, it should have been "You're", Einstein.

You shouldn't be posting at all...at least until you learn the difference between "your" and "you're", genius.

About 1/5 of the relevant stats

1) he seems to be out there MORE than any other DL...thus more chances
2) where are the stats on his MISSED tackles?
3) he is 8th on the team in tackles
4) what are his responsibilities on plays vs others on the DL?

What I see is a guy who when in very good position can't bring ball carriers down. I am NOT talking about LOS plays where he may almost be forced into a tackle. I'm talking about where the ball carrier is in motion and he can't make the play,

I would say the hundreds of downvotes on your dumbass OP shows you’re not right.

Noooo, the hundreds of downvotes are typical for anyone who bucks the party line and claims that LSU has no flaws as a football team. The truthtellers here commonly get the most amount of downvotes...doesn't mean squat.

One of his primary responsibilities as a run stopping DE is setting the edge on his side, which seems to be beyond you as a football concept, despite its critical importance. He is ELITE at this and it’s why we brought him in via the portal. We were really poor at this last season and gave up several chunk plays on the ground because of it.

Often this means he won’t be the one in position to make the tackle, but will either cause a play to stretch too wide or flow back inside. Either way, it’s usually the LBs or Safeties who will attack the ball and get the tackle in these situations. But his role is vital in stopping the run.

Well according to some posters, he IS in position to make the tackle (they give his tackle total). He misses far too many tackles. He missed a bunch in the S Carolina game. Also, to act like he is the only player who can "set the edge" that is an assumption on your part. Once again, I never criticized his effort at all...just his execution.
