Would you rather him say, "we're playing good ball right now but we are beatable"?

The kid said what is true, we averaging 10+ runs a game at the CWS, our defense has been perfect, and our pitching has been lights out. I think that pretty much sums up "tough to beat us".

I think the players have been confident not cocky. "Hard to beat" is different from "they have no chance.". PM has been level-headed. The ESPN folks have been (mostly) high on LSU and some of their hype has made me cringe. On the other hand, if they were blowing the Longhorns all day, we'd be back to ESPN hates LSU. I see the OP's point, but I'm not really concerned because I think the hype is around the team, not coming from the team itself, and they aren't getting big-heads about it

I'd be interested in knowing what these guys think. They'd be in the best position to know.

all I am saying is the way we are hanging crepe, that if we lose, it will be like the titanic going down.

I love LSU baseball. I am friends with todd walker, mike neal, and warren morris. This team just seems to be a bit too cocky for my liking.

Apparently this bothers no one else. I just like humility more than eating humble pie.

If honorable is the same as having a vagina, then I will need a certificate for a "honorary vagina"

IF you see it in Texas don't fall for the trap you are accusing them off. You become what you hate. Nothing wrong with confidence , but arrogance needs to be examined.

I can see how our chicken little fans would be bothered by a confident team on a 13 game winning streak. I'm sure some wish we were the underdog and all the talk was about mighty Texas.

I can't fathom this mentality. I enjoy knowing we are the best team ... and our opponent knows it.

Hope you do not mind an outsider's perspective.

This LSU team is not gorilla ball that you saw in the 90's. Your team does hit well but you also have good pitching and good defense.

Overall, it is the most complete college team in the nation and should beat the snot out of TX, which we Hog fans hope you do.

I have to agree, what a horrible observation. There really isn't anyway to please some of these negatigers. This team is, if anything, under celebrating wins. They are all business and if that seems cocky then you just don't know sports.

Enjoy the ride on the bandwagon, there's lots of room and you won't hurt the horse. We treat him well and feed him well.

Words heard from Texas player

"We are soooo much better than these guys!!" - moments before UT-USM game

I think I know who the cocky ones are.

No. LSU fans are a cocky bunch for sure. Got a reason to be I'd say, but that's just me. Plus you have to respect LSU's fan base. They support their team in good times (like now) and bad times (like before Saban). Besides the LSU fans in Omaha were yelling their azz off for Arkansas vs. CSF.
And what's even better is every SEC fans are loud and obnoxious in their support. Who would want it any other way? Not me.

Fans are supposed to talk smack that's their job.

Our players are just confident and businesslike

Study up on Mainieri and Garrido and decide who's cocky & arrogant.

The last time I've seen this much confidence in an LSU team was when we were getting ready to play #1 OSU in the NC. OSU was making noise about how we were overconfident and overrated (kinda like Texas now).

How'd that work out?

a confident baseball team looks like lsu did yesterday. a team that is not confident looks like arkansas did yesterday. if there is something i hate its when the media will ask a player " do u think you will win the game/series?" . the player says what? no ? then he looks like hes given up if he says yes we are gonna win because we are the best team then he gets attacked for making a prediction. what the frick are you supposed to say??? blake dean said its gonna b hard to beat them. how is that a bad answer?
