Sloan is a Passing OC first. Running 2nd.

No way he wanted to run the ball in the 2nd half.

That is on Kelly for sure.

Kelly needs to stay out of the offense plans and Playbook.

Most off of one big run by Emery.

Are we sure BK wasn’t tying Sloan’s hands?

In the 4th quarter, 9 carries for 15 yards, on 3 possessions, but don't let the stats get in the way of your narrative.

Outside of the 2 carries on our touchdown drive, we ran it 11 times for 22 yards in the second half...again, facts.

The Oc is not qualified! You have not 1. But 2 freaking 6 foot 7 tight ends use them in the end zone!

That most likely took Nuss off his game.

Feel like it’s under-appreciated how much being in rhythm helps a passing game.

It’s very difficult to go run run run pass against an athletic defense. And not just because you tip your hand — but because timing is everything & it helps timing a lot if you maintain some consistency attempting to push the ball downfield.

Kelly said at halftime that LSU was going to ride OL in 2nd half and try to control game. It failed. I’m sure he told Sloan to run ball at halftime or during 2nd half. Kelly is offensive guy.

Why would he, it’s Kelly’s offense.

I don't believe so. The offense boils down to two plays. 2nd & 8 in the red zone when its 17-13. If Nuss doesn't bury the ball at Aaron Anderson's feet, it's a walk-in touchdown and it's 24-13.

If we don't go hurry up and Pimpton holds a block for .068 seconds on that 3rd & 1 when it's 20 a piece, we bleed more clock and go kick what is likely the GWFG.

Emery was hot, and the offense moved the ball relatively well. If either of those 2 plays go our way with the defense playing the way they were, its a W for the Tigers.

Perhaps my biggest knock on BK. Reminds me of another stubborn Midwesterner

bs.....what part of 9 carries for 15 yards in the 4th quarter do you not get...and also, the overwhelming majority of those pitiful stats were on first down.

What were the % of total plays?

Alt26 skipped this, so I'll answer because it's a good point.
According to the ESPN Play-by-Play, 33% run in the 1st, and 46% run in the 2nd.

4th quarter runs -- 4, -5, -1, 3, 0, 2 -- 0.5 per rush.

Another interesting thing about that box score is that according to the QBR, Nussmeier outplayed Moss.
