It is beyond me how people can spin the fact that after this year, Saban will be 2-1 against Miles in three years of a rebuilding job, after Miles inherited the best program in the SEC five years ago. But the "Gerry DiNardo is the one who really brought back the Magic and recruited NFL players and we need to start a thread about it every day because we are insecure and can't stand the thought that Alabama's coach may be better than ours" crowd will likely find some way to do so. The rationalization will most likely be Perrilloux, but not to worry, because 2010 is definitely our year. Our year to go 9-3.

But we need to appreciate and just get used to that, because there is way more parity in the SEC than there used to be... which is why Florida and Alabama will post conference records of 7-1/8-0 in consecutive years.

That's just not accurate.

Can't compete?

Florida's best seasons in the last 10-15 years have come with once in a lifetime talents at QB. Well their first national title this decade they had Leak, but Tebow was obviously the XFactor in that offense.

its not like they havent had some average seasons. All teams go through up and downs, esp in the SEC where u need an experienced QB to win. There will always be a transitional period for teams once a QB moves on, unless you having the next Tebow waiting in the wings.

And shite, they even lost 4 games off that 1st national title season.

to say that we can't compete isnt accurate. We've won 2 titles recently in the same amount of time they have. So that has no basis

Are you kidding me? Why the hell go to that Sh!thole? IF LSU and BR cannot compete with the ghosts of SEC past (Bama), then that is truly sad. Their school is not ranked higher academically, and their facilities cannot be any better than what we have. Why recruits (Louisiana recruits)? Why Bama over LSU?

if thats the case we should dominate the SEC every Year along with Florida. I agree with your point btw and Miles is the weak link in the equation.

ok genius compare our depth chart in 2003 to 2000. There were some pretty decent gaps.

meyer was rebuilding.

2006 was zook's talent for the most part, but there was a huge gap, and that gap was felt the next year

2008 and 2009 are UF realizing meyer's recruiting

they lose tebow, but brantley gets plugged in next year. we lose RP and we're average for 3 years? that's a big difference

Right now they are 1-1. It is not "a fact" that Saban will beat LSU this year until it actually happens.

Reading this thread.....I just cant help but laugh....I guess Miles, Meyer, Richt, Kiffin, Nutt, and the rest of the SEC coaches should just hide under their bed the day they have to play bama.

You basically told me in a thread a few weeks ago that you wanted LSU to lose so they would get rid of Miles and the whole coaching staff. I can't seem to find that thread now for some reason.

How much are you willing to lose? Not a chance in hell the 109th ranked offense will able to score 17 points to beat bama which is what I think it will take to beat them.

We lost RP, they kept Tebow. How convenient for them. Brantley is unproven. Lee was supposed to be great and look what happened to him. And we do have Shep.

I had 2 fears when he went there, 1 was that he'd start to raid La HS talent, this was the other.

Anybody can beat anybody on any given saturday... especially Saban-coached teams (UAB, UL-Monroe, Utah, etc)

and if we had Perriluox like we should have???

we prob arent talking about this

PLus FL has a lot to prove when one of the best CFB players ever graduates after this year. Who knows what Brantley possesses. He could be the next 5 star flop...one of the many

tru. nice 1st year examples of Saban's 1st years at LSU and Bama respectively minus Utah which turned out to be a far better team than we all thought.

I am not sure anyone said this. But I just don't realistically see Alabama going worse than 7-1 in league play barring massive injuries. Which means they will win the Division for the second year in a row, an impressive accomplishment in year three of a rebuilding job.

Saban is a great coach. But he still loses games that he shouldn't. He's not God.

SFP, you really dont think its to soon to actually fire Miles? I personally believed if he lost 3 more games this year and we fired him LSU would look bad...worse that bama for bribing $abun.

Who would you want to see hired as of now?

I could be wrong but i think Louisiana has a higher population than Alabama. Even if it does it doesn't matter. Bama has to compete with Auburn and nearby Georgia for recruits. LSU has no instate competition for recruits. Their are a few exceptions but for the part LSU gets who they want instate. I might add in a state that produces more D-1 talent than Alabama year in and year out. I am not knocking Alabama's talent but LA does produce more. I might add more NFL level talent than any other state based on its population. Based on all of this I think your fears are exactly that just fears.
