LSU fans have become spoiled and have become the biggest crybabies. Oh the traffic is bad we better leave at halftime even with the game on the line. I used to go to all the LSU games and never left unless lsu was up by 3o in the 4th. It sickens me now to watch my tigers on t.v. and to see half the stadium empty and then to come on here and listen to all the excuses people make. LSU fans by far in recent years biggest crybabies around
This...
and I'll add...
True fans support thier team even if they're losing or having sub-par performance games. They understand that not everything will go perfectly and that players and coaches are human and they make mistakes JUST LIKE THE FANS. True fans feel dissapointment but they would NEVER do or say anything that would ultimately hurt the image of the program.
My favorite quote about TRUE Tiger fans:
"From the inside looking out, you cannot explain it...From the outside looking in, you cannot understand it".

Nothing wrong with luck. Haven't heard a post game press conference when the winning coach or player didn't drop the "lucky" word.

every team that has gotten a national championship in recent years can point to a win they were lucky to get

Better to be lucky than good.

I love lsu, but they are the biggest bunch of goddamned bandwagoners I've ever seen.
Every single athletic team that enjoys a period of success and dominance has the exact same problem.
quote:
It seems like there's an inferiority comlex, like we want to make sure were better than everyone else (mainly rankings wise) but the effort isn't there, as a REAL ACTUAL fan, to attain it.
Again, most athletic teams are like this. And yes, it is pretty bad at LSU right now.
quote:
Bottom line, we could do a lot better
Yes we could. I'm convinced that the majority our our fans are idiots, but if idiocy in a fanbase and success on the field go hand-in-hand, I'll take it.

It comes with the territory.
Any team that has as successful a decade as LSU had in the 2000's is going to have a multitude of new bandwagon fans. The richer and more well off part of the community are going to attend events they care nothing about just to be seen. Ticket prices go up. Ordinary Jor can't afford his season tickets anymore and Big Dog Inc. buys them up.
It happens...

it still saddens my heart to think of the "help mac pack" crap.
there have always been low life trailer trash who get their self esteem from being negative. it's how they were raised as children.
the ranturds will always be with us.

That's what two NCs so close together will do for and to a team...No question, we're a spoiled fanbase, but that's OK. I'd rather have those two crystal footballs and be spoiled than have our "old" rabid-fan reputation and be perpetual losers. Les knows his job is on the line this year. I think the team will deliver 10-2 and contend for the West. We may not beat Bama this year because they return their entire backfield but if not this year, next year we will contend for the NC. Bank it.

we're getting a $1000 worth of coaching with a $4 million salary. and yes, it sucks. again and again

Does anyone think lsu fans kinda suck lately?
A small percentage will always "suck" cause they are simply what they are....grumblers, complainers, faultfinders, and just plain jerks.
All programs have them to some degree. We just notice ours more cause they are ours.
The vast majority of LSU fans don't "suck" at all, but we do get labeled by the actions of the few who do "suck" and seem to be proud that they do.

I think we've been spoiled by the success...2000 and 2009 CWS champs in baseball, 2003 and 2007 BCS champs in football, a final four then last year's SEC title in basketball...and now expect championships every year.

The NEW breed of LSU fans have. The older fans that have been there ALL the time {like ME] Are happy for titles. NOT spoiled. I question a shitload of things Miles does. But I support the team no matter what.

I'll first start out by stating that the fan base is directly proportional to the coaching staff. Coaching staff good....fan base good. Coaching staff great....fan base great. Coaching staff sucks....fan base sucks. 2009 coaching staff sucked. 2009 fan base sucks.
I don't know about the last four years, but some of this "kinda suck lately" is a direct representation of a coaching staff failing at fundamentals this past season. Basic coaching fundamentals. It's one thing to lose a game when your kicker has a chance from say 45 yards out, but to not even give your team the chance, you get a fan base that kinda sucks lately. The prime example is comparing the 2008 season to the 2009 season. Sure the fan base didn't like losing games, but it seemed the fan base understood and could accept it with the youth and inexperience introduced to the starting lineup. 2009 was a different story.
I don't believe the majority of the fan base expects championships every year, but we do expect smart play and smart coaching and good effort by all. We do expect more wins than loses. That's every fan base expectations. I also believe since the introduction of all these recruiting rankings, expectations have been influenced and elevated by not just what is seen on the field, but by these rankings.
