Again, thats not how the 12 team playoff works.
To the OP, yes LSU has flashed Top 10 qualities, but seems to have more big play busts on Defense than other top 10 teams, only speculating here of what I know of LSU.

I think this teams best football is ahead of it.
Losing 3 first round draft picks is alot on the field but also a lot of leadership.
Defense is much improved and continues to improve.
The offense will score points.
We need the defense to continue getting better.

FWIW, the predictive power ratings (which oddsmakers use to set lines) don't have LSU has a top 10 team right now (generally anywhere from 12-16 in those ratings). Those same ratings have OM as a top 5-10 team. That's why OM is a favorite. OM, generally (on most power ratings), has about a 5 point higher predictive rating than LSU. Factor in LSU getting 3 points for being at home and you get your line of LSU -1.5 to 2.5.
In short, the predictive data doesn't reflect LSU is a top 10 team right now. That said, the predictive data gave Vandy and Arkansas little to no chance of winning last week.

they barley squeaked by South Carolina. they were favored by 20 points. so now what's your excuse for them playing like crap!
