I don't care if it has been talked about, repeat it.

What the hell is going on?

Is he in the Miles Dog house also? Is it just the SEC Clearinghouse? If so, what the hell is the issue?

Yeah yeah, you can claim that you somehow know he was going to be redshirted, or blah blah blah...

But that is not what is being asked. I just want to know if anyone knows the technicality at the SEC head office.

This dude could be a difference maker to keep us from the delusion that the guys in there now are going to somehow work out in avoidance of more embarrassments.

Latest rumor is it's our own compliance dept flagging him.

How much money does Alleva make? Seems like he could make a trip to Birmingham and get this shite straightened out!

Well, he DOES drive a mini-van, according to what I've read on The Rant.

The best explanation you're going to get is that two different transcripts exist for him. It could be as innocent as credits not transferring between schools, or it could be forgery. LSU can't play him until it's completely sorted out by everyone involved. No one on this board knows when or if that will be.

It is still really odd that the NCAA cleared him.

longer we hear nothing, more it seems like the Hicks situation.

Heard on Mascona show, NCAA cleared him, but another SEC team challenged the ruling and he is in limbo until the review is completed. He said it was either Miss. St. or Ole Miss that likely challenged the ruling.

P.S. he said the guy is up around 380 and out of shape.

I do think that Valentine had a sketchy uncle/coach/advisor that was deeply involved in his recruitment. I know he arranged transfers from one school to another and set up housing arrangements to assist his eligibility.

I am afraid there could be something pretty bad in all of this.

Nobody knows the whole truth on the situation. Here's the latest articles on it, but read into whatever you want. For all anyone knows it may be a pack of shite.

quote:

Highly touted LSU freshman defensive tackle Travonte Valentine is still awaiting clearance from the SEC office about his high school academic standing, but he might not play this season even if he gets the go-ahead.

Valentine, who at one time was purportedly 6-3 and 325 pounds, showed up in Baton Rouge extremely overweight, according to a source. The combination of needing to lose weight and the SEC’s ongoing review of his academic credentials makes him a likely candidate to redshirt this season.

Valentine received approval from the NCAA Clearinghouse late last month, but the SEC is continuing to look into his academics from Champagnat Catholic School. He led the Miami-area program to the Florida Class 2A title last season.

Champagnat is a 247-student school for grades 6-12 and is located next to a used-car dealership. It’s drawing increased scrutiny in college football circles.

Another source familiar with Valentine’s academics is stunned that he received approval from the NCAA Clearinghouse. The source said Valentine had very few high school credits entering his junior year.

“If Travonte Valentine qualifies there’s something wrong,” the source said. “It’s not humanly possible."

Need TD's to track down the source.

Start with other schools on his recruitment trail.

Who cares about the soap opera. The bottome line is this coaching staff has screwed up yet another recruiting class when it comes to DT's.

And so did Eddie Lacey. But then again it was Alabama. And none of these rules apply to them.
