Right
But we do know that he was suspended last year so whatever is going on it wasn't a one time thing.
Maybe this is what TM needed to get him on the straight and narrow. Some humility does wonders for some people.

Did you not read or see the PC yesterday?
Broke team rules....off the team means 3 strikes
Everyone knows TM had a drug issue he was fighting.....as known from last season
come on now...
Someone also posted that TM was sent to rehab this past spring....to avoid this from happening..
Policy is policy, rules are rules...TM's addiction couldn't keep him from doing drugs to stay on the team
Mettenburger has learned his lesson so it appears
Mettenburger went JUCO a year...then sat and watched on the bench last year
Mettenburger is now 2 years a head of TM in the process of "redirect" as Miles puts it

Mett was drunk and fondled the wrong girl in a bar..a UGA booster's daughter. a one time offense and he was booted with no warning...
BTW glad you are OK with sexual harrasment as long as it's a one time thing. Hopefully if a LSU QB fondles your daughter one day you and her will both let it slide but GD him if he ever gets busted for some pot!!!!!

I don't know the details of exactly what Mettenburger did while intoxicated....
I'm not excusing it
but sure seems you are excusing pot, cocaine or Heroin???

It's still the same as us taking ZM FYI.

How is he two years ahead of him when the time tables are different? Mett has already gottn his second chance at another school (two really) and TM is just now starting his.

He's an apologist. Don't even waste your time.

Mettenburger is now 2 years removed from that Innocent
you don't think he paid the price?
You dont' think he deserves another chance?
He didn't rape the girl for goodness sakes...
I was college student 25 years ago, I haven't forgotten what goes on in college bars at 2am...give me a break!

Nor do you know the specifics of EVERYTHING TM did but you are quick to condem him and forgive Mett all because of who is on the current team and who isn't.

Yes you are

So now TM was a Heroin junky? Man, those track marks in his arms must be hard to cover up for all the photo shoots he has done in the past month.
You just proved my point you don't know shite but hey lets sling enough crap to the wall and maybe something will stick.

Exactly...what are you trying to get thru my thick skull?
All I am saying is, TM has an addiction problem.... I don't think Mettenburger ever had an addiction problem...
so they are different in the fact that TM isn't actually dealing with that problem by having a change in scenery...
This will not end well for TM if he doesn't get help...
Preventing him from playing football is probably not a good thing for him... tough deal!!! as I see it

Sure everyone deserves a second chance is what I have been saying. It's pathetic how many of you think Mett does but TM doesn't. Both were involved horrible incidents and both deserve another shot at redemption.
Thank god I wasn't condemned for my mistakes made when I was 18-22 and was given a second chance. I am sure you can relate too.

You mean like LSU taking Mettenberger or when they let Melvin Oliver back on the team after beating a woman? What about Perriloux being given chance after chance? Every program has skeletons and can be hypocritical to some degree.

Stout,
You're just working too hard to apologize for McNeese. I see your sneaky work.
Obviously kidding.

What?
Look, I am very sad and broken hearted TM got kicked off the team...
I think he deserves a 2nd chance! but!! But! he had 3 or more chances at LSU...
The difference is Mettenburger was one and done at UGA..and he didn't have an addiction.
As a parent, I'm viewing it the situation as the drug problem needs to be dealt with ...not how can we get 2nd chance or 3rd chance...to play football

It's amazing how many people are quick to forgive or condemn based on what jersey you are currently wearing.

You have no idea if he is dealing with that now or not though. You can only speculate and speak in hyperbole which you have proven you are more than ready to do. Only time will tell if TM can fight his personal demons but that shouldn't mean he doesn't deserve a second chance at another school right now.

The main point of this thread is ridiculous. LSU has obviously had many questionable athletes playing for them, if being judged by a staunch Baptish preacher. Have I smoked weed? Off and on for 15 years. Have I ever fondled a girl while drunk? Too many times to remember.
The sad part here, is that TM added a big fat x to his resume in the eyes of NFL scouts. That's the difference.

Stout, seriously. You're dealing with a simpleton.

It says they want to put people in the stands, win some games, and make some money. He's only going to be there for one year. He'll be on a tight leash anyway.

You know what Stout? That comment really ticks me off!
You don't comprehend my position on this issue.
I will always be for TM7...As a Christian, I understand and grant 77 chances as Jesus put it relative to forgiveness.
I am fine with him going to McNeese!!
All I added was, When is TM7 going to deal with his drug problems? he needs help, and he needs football. What are the McNeese coaches going to do with his drug addiction?
this is much bigger than smoking a little weed....I don't know all of the details or results of his failed drug tests-obviously, but it's bigger than weed...can we not conclude that much?
