Looks like fastball is up in the zone and the dodgers have a good lineup.

Ohtani said “welcome to The Show Rookie” to him.

He is at 93 pitches. Maybe 1 more inning.

Gotta think Skenes night is done at almost 100 pitches

5 innings
6 hits allowed
3 runs allowed
1 walk allowed
8 strikeouts

ERA rose to an even 3.00

Skenes seems like he's usually going to have a 5-6 inning cap assuming somewhere around a 100 pitch limit. He's going to run high pitch counts by nature of his game. He gets a lot of strikeouts, strikeouts add to the pitch count. And he throws a lot of high velo fastballs which tend to get fouled off when contact is made, also adding to the pitch count.

Think he's around 95 pitches after 5. I'd be surprised if they bring him back out.

This was the first outing where he had a lenient zone. He had been squeezed a few times previously. If he can get his misses closer, he’ll benefit from more chase. Should be easy lol.

Homering off of 100mph is rare, it was also the fastest pitch Ohtani had homered off of in his career

He grooved it and Ohtani sat FB. In the MLB they can hit 100. Power pitchers get better with age as I’m sure he will once he really gets that command in all parts of the zone.
