offense. LA historically puts out defensive talent. offense, specifically QB has been the issue. get some consistency on offense, and the defense will take care of itself.

Offense is more important to the game, so offensive

What I want is for Saban to have never left. Imagine the success, the National Championships, the concessions!

And to think, we had him. Won with him. Built a program with him. And we let him get away…

Yes please. That would be an awesome change.

We've seen Saban (Alabama) and Patterson (TCU) swap over to offensive schemes, because that's the current trend in football. But I still think for a single game, like a bowl or playoff, they're going to be able to come up with a good defensive plan if they have the time to prep.
They are still extremely competent in Defense, but they are willing to accept a higher-tempo, more risky Offense.
This is still a big difference from the Big 12 model.

Defense still wins championships.
Even with the 2019 LSU team, the defense was a big part of that success story. Clamping down on Auburn, Florida, and especially Clemson gave the Offense time to put it away.
Strong performances against Texas and Alabama in the 1st half made the difference. If Texas or Bama score close to the goal lines early, it may have been a different outcome.

Saban didn't just become an Offensive guru. He knows he can manage the defense and hire the OC... and they'll want to work for him (despite what they may think of him).
Plus, it seems much harder to get a good Defensive coordinator.

ETA: I want an offensive coach. Well. A Head coach that coaches Offense.

Let is a strong word. We were never going to outbid the Dolphins.... and even if we had tried, Nick wanted to try his hand in the NFL.

Even Nick has said he wishes he had never left LSU, but hindsight is 20/20.
It's unfortunate that he went to Bama, but he won't be there forever.

I do not care so long as the head coach can cover one side of the ball or the other as the de facto coordinator. NO MORE CEO coaches.

LSU's pride and tradition has always been defense. However, modern NCAA is offense and it's difficult to have a smothering defense. I prefer defense but I'm fine with either.
