Ok, its been said before and I will say again, Mett is NOT even eligible tom play in a game yet, the gurantee he will be wearing an LSU jersey in fall is not for sure, I hope he IS on the team for the next 3 years and does great, but until he is actually eligible and on the team, this is all premature (I know right now he is "on the team", but he still has to make grades, not mess up off field etc, something he did NOT do at UGA)...Whether you like JJ or not (I support all LSU players), at the very least, he has remained eligible and never embarrased off the field...I hope mett can do the same

I love how people just forget Jarrett Lee. All you hear is JJ or Mett. JLee is not as talented as Mett, but has proven that he is comfortable in a backup/spot-duty role and has improved alot...enough so that he will be the first guy on the field if JJ can't go, or is playing poorly.

Oh I like Lee and I feel he should be the at the ready #2. My reason for wanting to start Mett is that JJ has shown he cant perform, Lee has performed in spots and would be an excellent fill in at any time. Mett I think has the highest ceiling and obviously is only a soph so he will be here 2 more years. Lee is in his final year. The more Mett plays in live action I believe the faster he will develop. I know I will hear the JUCO thing but he probably got more experience last year than a redshirt and not to mention he was in a head to head competition with Murray and according to Murray and Richt it was very close. Murray did well in his RS fresh year I think Mett would perform similiarly.

Mett comes in for the Miss St game after Jefferson has an abysmal first half and the Tigers are down 10. He mounts an amazing comeback and the starting spot is his from there on out. A legend is born

I agree Rudy...I like what Mett Brings to the table and he is the future. But knowing Les, he's not going to see the field unless there is an injury.

I like what JJ can do with his feet, I like JLee's ability to make clutch plays and be thrown in at a moment's notice, and I like Mett's ability to throw it around.

Roll all 3 into one, and we have one HELL of a QB!

I recall a similar situation at Auburn in 2008...unfortunately, a legend wasn't born...instead, a victim of the Rant was born.

I definitely agree with you there TX Gunslinger. However obviously you have to pick one and in my mind JJ's indecision, inablility to look off a db or go through his progressions and wild inaccuracy outweigh the benefits of his running. I think Mett is the best hope all around.

Of course pointing out JJ's many deficiencies is reguarded as heresy by many on here!!!!!

JJ will start all year

Mett will pass JL

Miles will platoon JJ and Met. Mett will win a crucial game with a big come from behind victory but will still be second to JJ all season (though with an increase in PT)

Only way Mett gets the nod over JLee is if JJ gets hurt and JLee underperforms.

Yes by halftime of the Oregon game and the rest of the year.

JJ could have his typical 3-12, 38 yard first half and he will still be coming out of the tunnel the starter in the 2nd half

Mett will see PT this year and will be starting by game 3 IMO...why? Because JL split time...Why? Because JJ isnt good enough to keep the 2d string off the field...truth is, that if JL had more skill, JJ would have been benched 2 years ago. JJ splits time for a reason...
Once he starts to split time w Mett (game 1), we will see flashes, and by game 3, we will be like "why is JJ on the field again?"

All this talk about CLM is stuck on JJ regardless is non-sense...CLM played the hand he was dealt, and a Head Coach doesnt publically berate his QB for God's sake..CLM's saying all the right things...what else can he say really

I hope your right because if we have to watch JJ being repeatedly trotted out as the starter after posting several of his 8-22 for 75 yards and 1 INT performances in a row people are going to be flipping out.

If JJ posts numbers like 8 of 22 for 75 yards & a pick very often, I would hope that Miles or Kragthorpe would realize Mett is the only hope. And for all those who insist that Lee is #2, come on, let's get real--if Mett has not already passed him, it is inevitable that he will sometime during the fall practices.

As much as JJ is the starter, Lee is the #2. Just gotta grin and bear it for 1 more year.

I would hope all LSU fans would support all players, I would also hope that if Mett never plays a down here becuase of academocs or off field issues, that those who are hoping he replaces JJ, will at least support JJ some. Once a player commits to LSU he ONLY does us good if he stay eligible, otherwise, he is no good to us...right? I will wait and see, what if Mett ends up like Keith Murray,Brad Strohm,Simon, Huffman,Seiber, Ricard, Garrett, etc etc all qb's who signed with LSU and for whatever reason, never made it....I hope he makes it big here, but until then...
