This did not go the way OP thought it would.

This is America, love it or leave it.

I mean, think of how much better our country would be if the unemployed were put in chain gangs and forced to work.

NO! I think we should shackle them up like slaves. *sarcasm for anyone that needs the explanation.

"aloud"? Seriously? You definitely need to stay in college as long as possible.

Ultimately all professional sports are just that...professional. So if a professional team wants to hire some kid who hasn't proven himself at the collegiate level because they believe that much in him then that's their choice.

Similar to how some IT companies will hire these young super genius tech guys without degrees. They're experts in their field so college may not actually add any value. It's riskier, but ultimately that's their choice.

If you were an academic who was halfway through college and someone offered you millions of dollars to go work their company because they believed in you based on your work up until then would you go? Do you think it would be fair of the University to force that kid to finish his education before he left for this company?

It's not fair to force anyone to finish school if that's not what they want to do.

I agree, college lost leverage when they lost this battle. I wish they would be forced to stay 4 years, or a certain age. Just my opinion. I see many disagree. I know many just do what they have to do to get by or even less during college. The 1 year thing in basketball has ruined college hoops. But this is America.

People aren't required to finish high school but we should make our unpaid entertainers work for free through college? Sounds fair.

Everyone is not cut out for college. And some people were put on this earth to play football for a living. It turns out that the best way to get there is through college, thanks to the NCAA/NFL syndicate. No one should be forced to stay in school if they have no intention of using a degree to make a living.

lol... You people crack me up! So, again, you're wanting to force people who could be incredibly exceptional in their job to hold off doing it at the highest level and making millions of dollars...just so you and your ilk can enjoy a Vandy/Memphis football game that much more?

Laughable!

You sound like one of those dolts that just can't understand why a kid from LA would want to play at a school like Alabama.

You can always go back to college. Look at Shaq.

You cant always , however, go back to playing pro sports.

I honestly would not have a problem with that. I do wish more athletes took their studies and academics seriously.

But it will literally never happen, and im ok with that. The school cannot and should not stop someone from making money

I feel pretty bad for the high school kids going into minor league baseball.
Minor league baseball is a very tough life for a young kid.

So a computer programmer gets offered a job after interning his sophomore summer but tells the company he is not eligible to work full time for them until after his junior year because if NCAA rules.

I hate it when that happens.
