Do you think LSU will ever win a NC in basketball?

What would it take? We’ve had some superstar players in the past. Why can’t we win just 1?

You have to have 2-3 guys who are unstoppable and can bring it every game. And the rest of the team has to be B+ or better and good role players. One star player is not going to do it.

You have to have a stout defense to get through the tourney.

Probably not in my lifetime. You would think at some point in the next century though?

LSU has come close 3 or 4 times so why not.
If Macklin doesn’t break his thumb on his shooting hand before the semi final matchup against Indiana in 81 , who knows maybe LSU wins it all that year.

You also need a stout defense to get past quality teams when your offense is having a bad night.... and those bad offensive nights happen to even good teams multiple times each year.

I don't think I will see it in my lifetime. There are too many blue bloods to compete with right now. It would take an Athletic Director with a basketball mentality to make it happen. And unfortunately, Football will get the most oil in order to drive the resources for the other sports.

LSU fans want basketball to succeed but what they really want is for football to beat Alabama and win NC's in the Superdome.

Programs like Duke and Kentucky know their place in football domination. Their resources will go into basketball.

Right now I don’t see the investment in basketball from a facility stand point. Wade is an elite recruiter but he can’t quite get over the hump. The admin hasn’t invested in basketball like they have football. I would even say the same for baseball. Willing to spend the $ on football but until they turn the corner on facilities I don’t see it happening. The PMAC needs a complete gutting. It’s the worst lighting facility of any power 5 facility I’ve seen.
