What if the problem is Les himself
Maybe he is getting more involved with play call on both sides of the ball

just saying

I think the big problem this year is Malveto, and Les' decision to hire them.

If this co-DC thing goes away, maybe the learning curve will be met and mistakes like this will not be repeated.

One step at a time. We know what the first one is.

Nope, hiring the right d.c. will.

Getting rid of Frick & Frack certainly won't hurt.
If that move doesn't fix the problem, it's adios Les.

Surround yourself with the best talent. It really boils down to that, and obviously the two guys we got now aren't the best DCs. Hire the best guy available, make a statement in doing so, recruit like a beast with your new guy in tow and move on.

Charley Strong. I wish we could pry him from Florida, but the chances are near zero I suppose. We'll see him as a HC someday in the next couple years.

No, you have to hire a great DC after that, and get the team in much better shape in the off-season. But basically, that's all you need to do to turn LSU back into a legit national title contender.

i wonder if florida fans after winning the national championship then struggling on defense the next year and losing 4 games did this?

No but it's the cheaper of the options. It's a start. Even with a change of defensive philosophy there are a lot of fundamentals that have to be taught before we become a good defensive unit.

No. They realized that college football is uber competitive and you have to build. They enjoyed their '06 title and looked forward to the day their young talent would benefit from the experience of the 2007 season. They also did not rag on their head coach and try to sully his reputation because they got a little disappointed. They didn't bad mouth their program on public websites for all of the recruits to see.

Also, there weren't any obvious schematic flaws in the Gator D last year. They just got pushed around because they were too young and weak.

So if we get a new DC with our superior players, won't things be OK? Can we let Miles fire em before trying to have him fired?

They also realized that they were in position to win each one of those games they lost. They only got beat by more than 6 points once.
Had their team lost three games by double digits and the play had gotten worse as the year drudged on, they'd have pitched a fit too.
