Wow, that's a stretch. Since only 1-2 schools go undefeated, you're really going out on a limb.

It's been said many times in his this thread. Winning a national championship is tough. You've got to have some luck go your way. I have no idea. I do know this though. As long as this team keeps winning, they will be favored in every game, with the exception of Alabama. And depending on what Alabama does, we may even be favored against them. Here's the big thing though. Based on the 4 game body of work, I think we are CLEARLY the best team in the country. More times than not, the best team in the country wins the national championship. I like our chances.

I also think that are players LOVE CLM, and that when it comes to playing Alabama, they reach just a little deeper.

It's going to be fun to watch. It already is. Nothing, imho, is more fun than LSU being THIS relevant in football.

I just don't see how some can really believe this. Not all but alot of fans have made this claim and seem to believe every bit of it. I just have that feeling that we r going to have an off day within the next month and drop one. I fully believe we have the talent. I guess I'm one of those folks that are waiting for something bad to happen. Hell, we may lose 2. I hope not though.

It's just too much to ask...particularly with the SEC title game as icing on the cake.

I believe we have as good a chance as anybody in the nation and it's nice just to be in that position.

We can do it. Why not have faith in the team and coaches.

It is very hard to do, which is why we have not done it that much. The only game I am really worried about is Bama. Of course in 07, I was worried about Bama(Saban) and Florida(Tebow) and we lost to UK and Arkansas, so what the hell do I know.

I believe either Bama or LSU could go undefeated. Significant injuries and bad breaks could happen in any game and screw up the season. The OL looked very deep and then multiple guys get beat up and are week to week or missing games. If Lee goes down it could all go out the window. I am still not sold on the concept that if LSU plays a stout D and the LSU D happens to give up a few easy 6's that the O can overcome that, it is just not a juggernaut of an offense at this point. I like some of the wrinkles Stud is throwing in and he might be saving the best for later.

UT has given LSU fits the last 4-5x they have played. AR and OM seem to save their best games for LSU. Weird shite seems to happen when AU is playing LSU from the officiating on down. With that said, I could see going undefeated as well as two losses but it is going to take a lot of focus and less lip flapping during the games.

Judging by our performance thus far LSU going undefeated is certainly feasible but we've got a hard road ahead of us. Even with one loss I think we could still make it to the MNC. Just sit back and enjoy the season; it will fly by and when it's gone you'll miss it.

That said...

We can maybe have one loss and make it to the National Title and that's the Florida game. The rest of the SEC is pretty much garbage this year. It's as down as I have ever seen it outside of 2 teams. If we lose to Bama they are West Champs so we can't lose that game. Honestly I don't think Florida is a top 20 team but they could prove me wrong. In my mind we could lose a close one to Florida and sweep everyone else and maybe get in.

Maybe they will still be tough but not better next year.. I think their defense will be similar to 2010 bama. Good, but youth will make mistakes and costs them 2-3 games.

to answer the topic

YES, without playing near to its potential this team has shown the it has the want; and is capable of besting all the quality opponents in its front as long as it retains health.

I'm a believer, yea yea....

I choose the koolaid over gatorade.

Just like every year.. they'll magically be healthy by the time LSU rolls around. It'll coincide with a major injury or two caused during the Alabama game.

I wish we could play Arkansas early in the season where they suck arse..

Realistically and statistically? no.
But, hell, we're off to a good start and anything can happen (good, I hope! )

Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee, Florida State, USC, Ohio State and Miami all had undefeated seasons in the past decade on the way to the National Championships. It's way past time for us to have another undefeated season.
