I justify it by the fact that we are improving as a program based on our overall record, the improving talent level, and because we are a young team right now that will be better next year.

IMO, the only improvement I see that is a contributing factor to a better record is improved talent on the team. This is a plus. The coaching however doesn't appear to be developing the talent or having a solid impact on fundamentals or in-game approach.

When the nba talent left in 2008, everything went downhill.

The guy cannot coach or recruit and is classless....will he be retained....yes....much to my chagrin .....his team this year looks like the rest of them he has had except the conference this year is weaker...a big mistake...hiring this guy...

Y'all are basing your opinions on one game despite the upward trend of our program right now.

I think people are more basing their opinions on the whole four years and the amazingly slow rate of progress. In a conference this weak, you'd think in four years any idiot could manage to stumble to .500 on pure luck if nothing else.

How could we not be? How could anybody not be?

Improvement is worthless unless it gets you to somewhere. "Improving" from the absolute worst to slightly better than the absolute worst is what you should be doing in the course of a month or so, not three mother fricking years.

I am not even really an LSU basketball fan, far less emotional than LSU football and all I see on here is that TJ is great and a world beater after wins or the scum of the earth after losses. All knee-jerk reactions and very narrow minded and childish IMO.

Not he needs to go.

He can't recruit.

And he is not that good of a coach.

The "improvement" youre talking about is insignificant. LSU is a LONG way from being a contender EVEN IF they squeaked into the tournament. What year is trent in now?

CONTENDER???? How many seasons over the past 50 years has LSU been a contender?? Are you delusional?

It's gonna take time to bring this program to that level pal, because even in the Dale Brown era we were never a perennial legit contender.

Trent has had to build this program from the ground up. You guys simply refuse to acknowledge our record right now compared to where it has been.

Do you not understand the concept of improvement over time? We are getting better, whether you want to believe that or not.

Three months? Slightly better than absolute worst? Dude we were in a tie for 4th going into today. Wake up. That's significant improvement and there is no reason to think we wont make more improvement next year.

I think you agree that we are improving, so what would you like? To start over with a new coach again? Thats genius.

Has the team improved this year, yes. Today, however, is a big disappointment. TJ will be back next year, but will be gone eventually if he doesn't start getting more studs. I support him, but that's a fact.

He can't recruit. He lucked up on getting twins at Stanford that were beast. He lucked up to get Hsmilton because he was dumb and thought Trent was the reason Brook and Robin are in the NBA. He can't coach x's and o's. He hasn't had his team show up when it mattered most for his entire career.
