How many SEC titles did we have under Brown? How many sweet 16s?

In 25 years, we made it to 5 sweet 16s and won FOUR SEC Titles.

That's a perennial contender to yall?

LSU's basketball history may be exciting but it is not NEARLY as accomplished as some of you remember it.

We went 15 years without missing the postseason. We were on national television with big time OOC and in conference games with regularity. We had big time national stars. I dont think most fans expect championships or even final fours with regularity (definitely not right now) but we shouldnt be getting BLOWN OUT by a mediocre SEC team when we have a shot at the tourney on the line.

ETA We put 60,000 people in the superdome for a regular season basketball game 3 straight years

So how long do you think it should take to turn around a sport that only has 5 people on a court at a given time?....

This can be argued both ways. Ex 1: There's only five players. How hard can it be to make five people good? Ex 2: There's only five players. If one screws up, there's fewer people to help correct the mistake.

People who laugh at the fact that we have improved make me laugh. It takes time to build a successful program. Trent came in, did a good job, had two bad seasons, and is now having a pretty good one again. I'm not saying coaches should be praised for having many off seasons, followed by a few good ones. I just think it'd be unacceptable and a waste of time to get rid of him and give up on this team in the middle of an apparent rebuild. It's like beating your child for failing after his first two attempts at walking. Sometimes, if you want improvement, you have to go through a slump in order to get there. Now, if next season is shitty, get rid of him. IMO, the last two seasons helped lead up to this good one. This season is not over. It won't be over until our last game has been declared over. On a side note, anyone thinking this season won't attract recruits is crazy. And we will land some because there will be more who are interested to choose from than normal.

Personally, I'd rather my team as a whole go from 3 wins to 7+ wins instead of a single player go from 6pts to 10pts

If LSU fails to make the NCAA Tourney at the end of the season do you start looking for a new coach? Even if he makes the NIT.

NCAA or Trent must go!

Its not about either IMO. The SEC is still down. They may send 5 teams. We just got dominated on all aspects of the game and it wasnt even close. For a coach who has no hobbies, he never really has a gameplan. The players did not get better from last year. It isnt about them averaging more points, it is about gelling and playing like a team. They dont.

if you cant develop players that doesnt mean shite.

you expect Freshman and transfer players to carry out team every year while the veteran players never get better?

Nobody is excusing this loss. It was bad. But this game is not indicative of our entire season. I agree we should be a program that at the very minimum should make the NCAAs just about every year, but because we did that under Brown doesn't mean we were some national powerhouse. Other schools would completely laugh at some the "accomplishments" of our basketball program.

Nobody accepts or is happy with our record right now, but it shows progress. The season isn't over, we can still get to 20 wins and the incoming class hasn't signed yet either.

Anyone who wants him gone now are basing that completely off of emotion without looking at any hard facts about the matter at all.

You're right though Lester, I'm just a 19-20 year old who doesn't know shite

Every think that rebuilding the talent level might have something to do with that? Is it just me or are our newest players some of our best?

Hmmmm let us follow that logic for a second...could that mean...(gasp) that our recruiting is improving!?!?

Turner and Stringer were pretty highly recruited guys, both who had good FR seasons last year. They have gotten worse!!!

Storm Warren had a decent career early on, and he has not gotten better.

Ludwig was taken as a role player, and he can't even get that down. He has not gotten any better.

So Hickey, Hamilton, and O'Bryant haven't been our best players? Oh ok.

Hey Goldmill, have long have you been alive ? Dale Brown beat UK 19 times, more than anyone ever has. If UK has ever been challenged by anyone, it was Dale and LSU... just ask a UK fan.

horrible game all the way around. i like trent as a person but i can't see how this group gets any better with his principles and philosophies. there has been some fool's gold sprinkled in this season but i think we knew in that little stretch where we played florida and kentcuky (and bama and arkansas on the road )that we weren't a very good team.

it sucks because i want to try and stay positive about the future but like i said int he previous paragraph, just cant see them taking much more than a baby step forward. i really hope im wrong. we've met my expectations (and may even exceed them) for this season but i can't see it getting too much better. we may look a little better if morgan is able to keep stringer on the bench but we probably still won't even be able to pass it or catch it with both hands, get out hustled and out worked by smaller opponents.

hope i am wrong.

i think it would be a good idea if trent went outside the box and brought in someone who could add some new ideas to the halfcourt or at least help with recruiting. scott is really the only coach on staff that has earned his coin.
