I like Georgia, Miss State, Kentucky and Vandy when they're not playing LSU.

No, that's not enough. It needs to be super critical to do this.
For all those years I was supposed to be for Bama in the Iron Bowl because it would make a difference in the SEC-W, my heart was never in it.

vandy is a good story but frick the rest of the SEC
I'm proud we're in the SEC. In the South, we have the best athletes and the best teams in the nation. I'm proud of that. I'm proud to be a member of the SEC.
If we can't win the national championship, I want another SEC school to win it.
And yea, I know other posters will say it hurts our recruiting if another SEC school wins, but I don't buy it. We've had elite recruiting for a long, long time, including when other SEC schools were winning NCs. We'll be fine.

I pull for whatever team is playing against any team that if they lose will benefit LSU.
Better for LSU's ranking, chances at SEC Championship, recruiting, and Playoff chances. And in the SEC it can be very different this year with no divisions.

I want every SEC team to lose every game in every sport, unless their victory will somehow benefit LSU!
It helps ALL of us when the SEC is strong, top to bottom.

I don't care! I do not care that it is illogical and would hurt LSU in the long run. The question is: Do you pull for other SEC teams and the answer is NO!
Last week I wanted UGA and Tn to win because it helped LSU and that was the only reason.

Conference pride is the dumbest of the dumb. LSU only. Everyone else can EAD.

I pull for teams based on how their game affects LSU. I've even been known to - on occasion - root for Bama when them winning also helps the Tigers.
Then I take a shower with Clorox and Listerine when it's all said and done.
this.
it helps mask the stench if you consider it to be pulling for an "outcome" vs pulling for a specific team.

I only root for another SEC team if it's against a team I hate. You bet your arse I am cheering for whoever faces Bama or Ole Piss.

I've always pulled for vandy against everyone except LSU

Anyone notice his photo as vandy pimp he is doing the zoolander face

Now of course, I want LSU to win every game. But I can also root for other SEC teams when we're not playing them.
Again, there's a lot of good college football outside of Baton Rouge. Embrace it.

Generally, no. But, my nephew is a freshman at Vandy, so I hope they do well (except against LSU of course).

I'm ready for vandy to finish 6-6 so we can stop this BS

Thanks for saying in one sentence what it took me several paragraphs to say.

Hell no, unless under one circumstance. Bama losing has to be THE reason we make the playoffs.
quote:Screw that! I'm NOT fine with LSU missing a chance at the SECCG just so I can celebrate another Bama loss. That's the very definition of a Pyrrhic victory (otherwise known as cutting off your nose to spite your face).
Im okay with missing out on the SECCG.
I'm sick and tired of moral victories (looking at you, 10RC, clinging to your win in Tiger stadium like it means more than us winning the SECW that same year). If Bama winning gets us closer to making it to the playoffs then I'm fine with that.
I want LSU to win the SECCG, run rampaging through the playoff bracket and win the NC. So, if it means pulling for Bama to win a game to help us get further along the in playoffs then I'll hold my nose and do it. And then, as I previously said, I'll follow that up with a long shower with a full bottle of Clorox and then Listerine to detox from that disgusting (but necessary) scenario..

Honestly, NGL I pulled for Auburn against Bama in every Iron Bowl except for the Scam Newton years. Couldn't really bring myself to pull for Bama unless them winning had a direct net-plus effect on LSU's overall BCS or playoff chances.
Then again, I have family ties to Auburn in the far past (there's a statue of my great-Grandfather outside of JH stadium, and you have to use Donahue drive (Ave?) to get there). Was never enough of a pull to make me LIKE Aubie, but it was enough to always tip my hand away from Bama even before I started fully embracing LSU as a fan.

Which was exactly the case before the BCS came along and various polls alone decided who would be #1. There was always a bias against true, southern SEC teams not named Bama in those days, with favorites being played towards the B10 (Meeeshigan, tOSU, etc), ND, and then the West Coast teams like USC. It was those same polls that loved Bama while crapping on the rest of the SEC.
The rise to power of other SEC teams not named Bama has only elevated the sport and visibility for member teams of our conference. Which is why Texass, Furk University, Chokelahoma and the fake Tigers wanted to get into the SEC so badly.
Everybody knew that the B12 was inferior to the SEC overall, regardless of how much they crowed about their teams. They routinely got whooped going head-to-head against SEC teams on the national stage (along with the B10 con, er, pretenders who also sacrificed themselves on the SEC altar of dominance).
So, generally speaking, I'm ambivalent to other SEC teams except for Bama, Ole Piss and the Fighting Milkmen. I don't detest Texass or Brokelahoma yet, but they may yet descend into that cauldron of hate if they keep up their current sense of entitlement after just walking through the door of our conference house.
In most cases not involving those teams I'd like the SEC to do well because a strong SEC benefits all member teams. And, when the situation warrants it, I'll even pull for those teams when them winning advances LSU's overall chances (I'll hold my nose when doing it, though).
