yep, classic Rant. Usually when someone starts a thread calling everyone else morons, dumbasses and idiots, they’re typically posting something really stupid.

OPs question case in point. A real pot meet kettle.

In his masterful management of the regional

I know you’re being sarcastic I just don’t understand why. After all, we did sweep the regional, didn’t we? Do you really believe that staffs pay no attention to the weather forecast in a four team regional setting?

The forecast for Saturday, Sunday , and even Monday was for thunderstorms. Guess what, we got thunderstorms Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Why is it so hard for some to imagine that guys who have to be prepared for everything all the time might factor rain into their decision making process. I’m not sure anybody did, but it doesn’t seem unreasonable that they might. Anyway, we swept through the tournament be happy

I am happy, of course.

It's fun to debate these kinds of issues. I don't know why people take it so personally.

Did the Head Coach specifically cite the weather forecast for lots of game-stopping thunderstorms when he explained his reasoning for starting his Ace in Game 1 of the Regional? If so, then it is fitting to support the reasoning based on that. If he did not cite the weather forecast as a basis for his reasoning, then, I don't agree with the tactic of adding that basis of reasoning to what he did cite as the primary basis for his reasoning.

That's the basis of the content of my post.

If I recall correctly, Coach said that his reasoning - and I'm paraphrasing - was that Tulane was getting hot and improving rapidly, so, LSU needed to throw the Ace to cool them down. I disagreed with that reasoning. Most baseball mangers would disagree with that reasoning.

Now, if Coach specifically explained that he expected weather to interrupt the games on the days following Game 1, then, his reasoning for pitching the Ace in Game 1 would be very sound.

But, I don't recall that he cited the weather forecast as the basis for his reasoning.

People need to calm down and enjoy the debate. There's no reason for anger.

What detail orientated, successful college baseball coach in south Louisiana isn’t going to consider the weather forecast for a regional baseball tournament in June??? as someone who has lived in Louisiana all my life, this wouldn’t be my first rodeo for having to arrange my outside activities according to weather forecast in June. The mystery to me is why some seemed shocked by someone paying attention to the weather forecast.

If you think a guy who likes to pattern himself after Nick Saban didn’t consider the weather when setting up his pitching rotation, I don’t think you know much about the LSU baseball coach.

When coach said, “I have some underground sources”, he wasn’t talking about the cook at Mike Anderson’s.

Sometimes when you make a call you win and sometimes you don’t. I’m just glad everything worked out for LSU.

I'm glad everything worked out for LSU.

However, the press and the fans are not mind-readers. If Coach really thought that weather would interrupt Game 2, but not Game 1, then I think that he would have mentioned that to the press during the post-game conference.

You are free to conclude differently, but, your conclusion is based on speculation and not on anything that Coach said.

He said he looked into the weather forecast and he said that he knew based off forecast that the Saturday games could well experience weather delays he even alluded to a LSU regional which didn’t finish until Tuesday cause of rain.

I’m honestly amazed that there are LSU baseball fans who think that a LSU baseball coach hosting a 4 team regional in June wouldn’t consider the weather factor.
