Very few people follow high school baseball and recruiting. It's a drop in the bucket compared to football recruiting and the information available. Reading a profile on a recruiting board doesn't mean much. Why not lay off the OP?

Because his question a) wasn’t asked out of true interest, it was asked to shite on the current team and b) all of the information he’s looking for has been put together already and he’s refusing to look at it because he wants to shite on the current team.

Seemed to me he was looking for an honest opinion from someone who really follows baseball recruiting, not just a recruiting profile.

BillF , has your opinion changed on this team making a run to Omaha based on Money being hurt and other weaknesses ? I am not criticizing you because I was drinking the koolaid too. If we don’t have dominant pitching then we are screwed bigtime.

Yeah, my opinion has definitely changed. I do think this team will hit, but I'm incredibly surprised at the shoddy fielding. We have a bunch of good athletes who somehow can't play defense, and it's frustrating.

As far as pitching, I didn't expect it to be the strength of the team, but I did think some newcomers could make it respectable. I'm not entirely giving up hope on a decent season, but we have no shot at Onaha if it turns out that Money actually is our ace.

Always a smarta$$ answer on this board

There's a few guys on the board (like the first couple replies) that think they are baseball gods. Really. They're just a bunch of fricking dicks. This was a legit question.

The guy from FW/D. Unless we have some connections, I bet A&M or Texas has strong eyes on him. Better chance he will be our competition

He’s already signed

I coach in the same district as Herring and watched him pitch the other day. It was 88-92 with really good movement, a very sharp 83 mph slider and a low 80s change that’s a plus pitch, and it was all for strikes. So yeah, I see a kid like that throw and compare to what lsu currently has and i think he will compete for innings from day 1

Do you see him profiling as a starter (at some point, not necessarily right away)?

He's one of 6 LHPs in the class. I would say he's probably the 3rd biggest draft risk.

Not factoring in signability, order of draft risk based on what I've seen:
Kennedy
Snelling
Herring
Ackenhausen (JUCO)
Bronzini
Primeaux

I think there is a material chance we get all 6 to campus. Ackenhausen could be a plug & play rotation guy.

its extremely difficult for a freshman pitcher to come in a make an immediate impact...especially a weekend starter... if thats what youre looking for then the transfer portal and JUCO transfer are your best bets, and a frontline guy will prob go in the draft.

Predicting pitchers is so difficult especially with the threat of injury looming all the time. His profile is definitely as a starter. Three pitch mix, calm demeanor, goes right to work changes speeds well. He’s an elite high school arm and the stuff is there to be a good college pitcher
