Not sure why you're even trying. There are some seriously stupid mongoloids in this thread.

Wanting to see a sliver of creativity automatically means you want a Leach Texas Tech or Chip Kelly Oregon offense. Any minor deviation from the offense we run would instantly drop us to perennial 7-5 or 8-4 territory

We do not run a pro style offense. I don't know what you call our offense. Alabama runs a pro style offense, and runs it well.

Well then you don't know shite.

But hey West Virginia's super creative offense is putting on a show for you right now. Go check it out.

I don't know shite? Show me a fricking pro team running LSU's shite. Show me a pro team giving the ball to a fullback on 3rd and 4.

West Virginia is playing in a fricking blizzard. Wow look at that, I can make excuses too. Similar to how I'm sure you were doing after the Capital One loss to Penn State.

I don't think it would. They scored 20 something versus an amazing LSU D, who had an offseason to prepare. They scored 19 against Auburn who had 40 something days to prepare in a national championship game. They scored a ton, and beat the dog shite out of Tennessee in the middle of the season two years ago.

Oregon had just as much time to prepare. And Tennessee isn't exactly a top team.

Wait till next year.
Mett's third year under system and his youth. The mayans were not accurate in their prediction. Miles is waiting till 2014 to open up. The o-line is young. BAMA got away with holding. There was a hurricane in Mexico so players did not get enough practice.

No? LSU beat them 16-14 at home. You remember that great win right? Miles was ecstatic over that victory.

Oregon beat them 48-13 on the road.

As for the guys harping on execution - answer me this? Why can many other programs execute a more complex offense, yet LSU can't.

LSU probably can. But when your opponents have almost as big, fast and strong a line as you do there's no time for "creative" plays to develop, you have to save the fancy plays and trickery for ... your own line.

If you ever really watch what is going on LSU's line play is fairly sophisticated and creative for the college game. Of course, you probably think it's just a bunch of big guys banging into each other.

The Captial one bowl was three years and an OC ago.

If you don't think we run a different offense now then you either don't watch football or don't understand it.

It is stupid to say that FB gives typify our offense. And if you watched, you would know execution is what hindered our offense and not scheme.

NOt to mention our Offense drove down the field and put our Team in position to beat Bama with 2 minutes left, and our defense coughed it up. No matter what you say about missed opportunities that is on the defense.

No one is saying do a complete overhaul to our offense, so people need to quit fricking bringing up Oregon and WVU.

Asking for a TE seam on 3rd and 4 as opposed to toss strong isn't asking the world. With as much as LSU plays off a strong TE formation, it would be pretty easy to pull off

The motion WR sweeps Florida ran against us seemed to be pretty effective against a good SEC defense. Gasp... the motion had us discombobulated and gave us something to think about.

Dickson looked pretty good late in the year.

Mostly with Shephard... he averaged over 8 YPC this year. Why not continue being creative until it leads to diminishing returns?

Ill be honest i have no idea why we didn't give dickson more looks

Because that isn't how football works. The sweep play only works because it is unexpected. you run it too much and it becomes expected. He had 3 carries against Alabama. 8 against Miss St.
He alsywas has 1 decent one followed by the rest beign stopped for 2-3 yards gains. His average is ratched up by a 78 yard run against Townson.

We don't throw to our TE more because we can barely throw when we have 5 OL blocking. we don't run 5 WRs sets for the same reason. Ask yourself who do you want getting more looks our WR core or our RB core?

I would just like to see some type of misdirection once in a while to keep pursuing defenses like Bama honest. They would never suspect it because we NEVER do it! Almost ever.

Bama ate our lunch with the fake to Trent Richards roll out to the opposite side and throw it to the TE on 1st down in the BCS NCG and we used to run it, but it's been a long time.

On our rushes, It's all straight ahead with no misdirection whatsoever. When it works, keep running it, but mixing it up a bit would even make the straight ahead plays run better.

I didn't say run sweep after sweep until they stop it but there are more creative ways to get the ball to a back/receiver than simple handoffs.

Sweeps, counters, shovel pass, misdirections

LINK

You can't tell me we don't have the athletes and blocking receivers to run this more than once or twice this year.

More short routes. We have receivers that are good with the ball after the catch but run very few 5 yard routes. We'd rather run the bubble screen into the ground; at least we finally strayed from that later in the year

Hey Tigerik, I like the idea of running something because the opponent would never expect it. I mean I bet an option play to the short side with Mett would gain BIG yardage.

You second-rate arm chair QB's are hilarious.
Throw to the TE. OOOPS!! It got intercepted. Damn but MIles is a dunce because he called that play when LSU was having success running it up the gut.

Ex-fricking-actly

It doesn't take the 1,000s of read options or ridiculous complexity to show them different looks more often
