You can't be serious he is at the bottom of the barrel even for a high school announcers. He is unlistenable! If Daddy wasn't making those big donations to CHS Little Dixon would have never seen the inside of a press box.

I'm pretty surprised he's this polarizing. I think Keith Frank said it best. If you got a lot of haters, then you must be doing something right.

Yeah, like I said, went to a men's bball game this past season and legitimately thought he did a great job. This isnt play by play on the radio.
Dixon has been the PA announcer for softball for a few seasons now. I think he may have also done volleyball or beach volleyball? He did the entire men's basketball season. LSU wouldnt continue to put him in these roles if he's bad. I think a lot of people have personal issues with him or it sounds like maybe his politics or family - but if you can set that aside for a moment and understand this is strictly about a voice making announcements at the football games, I think (from actually having heard him do it) he's a great candidate.

No disrespect to Bill, but I would rather hear Dan Bourne’s subdued late-career “Malik Nabers scores” than the low energy PA voice that he brought to Death Valley. Let Mr. LSU Baseball be Mr. LSU Baseball. That’s his thing and he’s great at it. I would pick Mario Jerez, but Dixon would be a solid get.

I mentioned his dad because his "donations" to CHS are the reason Dixon got the job at CHS...fact!

Ok? What’s your point? It’s a volunteer position at catholic. Of course it’s going to go to someone with connections to the school. He obviously has a passion for it.

I don't care that his daddy bought him the Catholic High job. I do care that he is a terrible at that job and don't want him getting the LSU job just cause daddy buys it for him. Sid Crocker and Dan Borne were the past two to hold the job Dixon Mcmakin couldn't hold a candle for either.

Dixon does so damn much for CHS (and volunteers his time plenty around town in other capacities). frick out of here with that. He is responsible for creating challenege week with SJA and the 1894 minute giving challenge and still goes back every year to help promote it. You see his dad's company sponsoring the broadcast and think thats how he got the job?? What did the other sponsors kids get in return? You sound extremely jealous.
