Did you like Jimbo when he was here previously?

Seems to me most on the Rant didn't really support him back then.

It'd be interesting for someone with access to put together a spread sheet with posi-jimbo guys one side and nega-jimbo guys on the other.

I remember the Rant bitching openly about Jimbo... a LOT.

And... what did you think of Jimbo during their championship run with Jameis? Be honest.

On the fence. But in jimbos defense and looking back on it, his offense was neutured pretty much by les and even with sabes to an extent

I liked him. He made me drive my head through the wall at times with his 3x QB sneaks in a row.

That said, his 'lesser' years was when Miles was here and I firmly believe all those rumors Miles had a big hand in the conservative approach. I mean, he's been through multiple OCs and the offense never changes. Even in 06 when the offense was excellent and we shite the bed against AU I thought that season was one of the better offenses I've seen at LSU. We had what, 3 first-round WRs that year? Actually 2 but Doucet got drafted pretty high next year too. Joseph Addai was a first.

I'm not sure what fans consider lesser years but many forget how good 2006 offense really was. Also a good example of showing how good he's at developing QBs. I have no doubt Flynn's play in 07 was directly because of all those years under Jimbo. Russel was one of the biggest busts in the NFL but he was really blossoming in 06.

i thought Jameis was had even more liberties than Cam Newton had. i was not a fan of his lack of discipline.

i did like jimbo as our OC though. glad nick left a little something for CLM to work with.

That's what I don't like about Jimbo. We have discipline issues too...all colleges do...but it seems FSU has more than usual.

Yes. I never understood the hate near the end of his tenure. You could watch QBs like Rohan, Mauck, Russel and Flynn get better when he was coaching them. Now we watch QBs stagnate or even get worse. I wanted him to be promoted to HC after Saban left and there were no big names available.

I really liked him. Everyone else here hated him.

We'll hire him, and everyone will really like him for about eight to ten months. Then they'll go back to hating him.

Maybe we didn't like Jimbo under Miles as the HC. Would that make sense with the current situation of our frustration? Just saying.

well operating in hindsight, many have now realized who is at fault for our offenses shortcomings.

He was all right, but I didn't see him as an offensive mastermind.

I am fine with Jimbo coming in but Why are the same guys that have incessantly bashed Les for 11 years all butthurt about ANY jimbo criticism.

I have asked this before and I get :crickets: as a response. Doesn't really make sense.

LSU didn't miss a beat when Tennessee knocked Rohan out of the SEC Championship game.

But Mauck wasn't exactly your typical back-up QB.

I'm just curious how many people are jumping on the Jimbo bandwagon now that previously dog-piled on him until their savior The Wizard arrived?

I think Saban's defense will beat Jimbo's offense just as easy as Miles.

For some reason, the Rant has no long term memory. When Fisher left here the first time, it was almost openly celebrated.

Yet, we can't go a minute without someone on here starting a thread asking why we don't throw more bubble screens. Guess who brought that here.
