First off, we didn't need to run a trick play but that doesn't mean we didn't. I can't recall one but my memory sucks. The closest thing that I recall that slightly resembles a trick play is a handoff to Chase from the running back position.

Only one I can think of is the fake QB draw ---> Chase against Bama

Not that I recall. Clemson sure did pull out their bag of gimmicks though.

When they ran the reverse in their first series, I turned to my wife and said "they're desperate"...

I knew that they realized that they were screwed when they came out the locker room running trick plays.

I don't remember any off hand. We didn't need them. A lot of times they're used to get players excited about something in an otherwise mundane offense. We didn't have a mundane offense. Nor did we have a skill deficit we needed to overcome, which is another common reason for trick plays.

That Clemson ran a couple of them in the first quarter was telling, to me, about what they thought their chances were.

That was an rpo.... if the playside LB stepped up he'd throw, if he dropped he'd run the draw

When you can line up and kick anyone's arse in the country you don't need trick plays

Going by LSU’s play book from the past, you could just about say the whole season was a trick play

of course, those aren't trick plays. they are matchup plays. we have/had multiple options for all receivers in the backfield.

Besides a well timed fake kick, trick plays scream "Desperate" like " I know we cant line up and beat you one on one, so defend this"

Buddy of mine works the LSU practices. He told me last week that they had been practicing a hook & latter for the last 2-3 months but we never had to use it in a game. Jamar Chase runs a dig route, catches it and pitches it to Clyde who slips out the backfield. He said it was so smooth and worked all the time..

Nice to not have to use it

Amazing how things have changed. Under Miles, a pass to a tight end or running back was so unusual it could be considered a trick play.

That 4th down call against Oklahoma with Chase running it out of the backfield I guess was kinda a trick play

I would not call this a trick play at all

Damn near every play "tricked" at least one defender.
