LSU, with the exception of 2005-2006, has gotten worse as every season has progressed under Miles.

The defense for sure. They have looked like crap on defense ever since they gave up the winning score vs Bama.

The offense looked liked they were rolling against Bama and Ole Miss and then went MIA against Arkansas and Clemson. Two defensive powerhouses.

Defense went backwards after the Bama loss - especially the secondary. The last 4 games were the worst 4 in a row that we have played against pass in years. Reminded me of the Hookfin era.

Offense was frustrating all year.

alabama loss took wind out of teams sails just like it did the fans.

It fricking sucks that LSU football has basically become a one game season.

Did people have their minds wiped after September? This team improved dramatically from the first 4-5 weeks of the season.

You think the defense got better as the season went on?

Yes.

Remember Towson? Of course, the defense never improved its major problem: late game drives. LSU's defense allowed a major two minute drill in 8 of its 10 games against real teams, and scores on 6 of those 8 drives (Ole Miss missed a FG and MSU threw a goalline INT). That didn't get worse or better as the year went on, but that was an issue driven by our depth issue from personnel losses and the offense's inability to stay on the field.

I do think our secondary got better as the year went on, going from major liability to average (that's what happens when you start two underclassmen). And our d-line, which generated almost no pressure in the early goings of the year, got to the QB late in the year.

Minter was consistently awesome, though.

we started off good then fell and then went up and then by the end we were back to regressing again.

it was like a roller coaster: way up north texas and washington, way down with auburn and uf, up against uscjr,a&m and bama, flattened out against state and ole miss and then crashed and burned vs arky and clemson

I don't see how you can say the team that shut down JFF was the same defense we saw against Ole Miss, Arkansas and Clemson.

They haven't been the same since that last drive against Bama.
