just tried google to see how much gold was used to make the trophy, most say 200# of 24k solid gold. I know this can’t be true but even if it only has 5lbs of gold plating it would have a value of 250k.
I heard on the radio that $10,000 worth of gold was used for plating when it was made and that the price of gold has increased 500% since.
That would mean the gold value increased to $60,000. But math is not my strong point so I could be mistaken.

Baton Rouge law enforcement, led by chief inspector J. Clousseau, has foiled several plots to steal the $103 million gold boot.
The Louvre in Paris should have consulted with them prior to the successful heist of France’s Crown Jewels a few weeks ago. Sad.

We need an actual gold boot.

It is a good thing that we keep it. I don’t want Arkansas to steal it like Tulane did The Rag.

That's correct. The Hebrews built it while Moses was on Mount Sinai

I asked Copilot. Its 24 karat gold plated. The gold presently has an estimated value of about $6000.00. The trophy is valued at 10K due to the craftsmanship and other materials that were used to make it.

only remember one Sugar Bowl when pre-SEC Arky was ranked 2nd, unbeaten. And Cholly Mac’s Tigers were 7-3 but beat them Hogs 14-7.
I’m old as well. I remember lil Joe Labruzza running behind Dave McCormick over their AA DT. We broke their 22 game win streak (I think)
I think they may have won the NC with a win. The team above them lost.
But, I remember it as the 1966 Cotton Bowl.
It was one of my Good Times.

For years when they first started the trophy it sat in a corner of the old LSU hall of fame like they had no idea what to do with it.
Yep. Saban even made an off hand comment about how we used it as a door stop and if Arky won they had it as a showpiece in their trophy room.
It’s also funny to see that we are still petty about it and only polish the Louisiana and leave the Arkansas part tarnished. The longer we have it the more pronounced it gets.
