that very rarely happens. It is possible and has happened to a handful of the thousands upon thousands of the draft eligible players that played in bowls over the years. But it is a long shot of happening. Better question, why not just take the whole year off or the last half the year. He had established himself as an early draft pick long ago way back at the beginning of the season if not before.

What i thought was hilarious was Will Grier sitting out the bowl game but playing in the senior bowl. I realize they protect players to a certain degree in those games, but it still wasn't a good look to me in Grier's case.

So.....YOU know that's not the reason he dropped but the guy who has sources all over the NFL and does evaluates players for a living "doesn't know shite"?

Todd Mcshay predicted 4 first round picks correctly last year.

Fwiw Daniel Jeremiah dropped Greedy out of round 1. Has him as an early 2nd rounder now.

The NFL is a business and forces decisions based on a teams performance.

So, did he guarantee his safety by not playing the bowl game, yep. But what he also proved to A LOT of people that run those businesses is that he is a one man team and makes decisions based on what is best for him and not the whole. Football is a team sport and his success was at least in part due to the people around him and he bailed on them.

Maybe other Defensive positions are more valuable and that is why he moved down, but if he isn't the 1st DB taken, I think the proof is in the pudding. He was rated as the best CB before his decision to forgo the bowl game.

I wish him the best.

Call me crazy, but I feel like the average LSU fan could do better than that.

Im no fan of Mcshay but hes right in this case and it has nothing to do with the bowl game.
I read many draft sites including walter football (those guys are good), cbs, nfl.com and countless others, Greedy is dropping in all of them.
He is what he is athletically and thats why scouts have always loved him. Many also think he has good technique on film and when motivated he can be shutdown. However, most of these people are seeing effort issues on film and at times fear of the opposing wrs skill level (Juedy in particular). The Alabama and TAM tapes are really hurting him right now. He got ate up.
Hes likely gonna stay in the 1st because the physical gifts and skill at the position are top notch but others are close enough to pass him up. In particular, Deandre Baker and Byron Murphy.

The combine will be the key as stated by some earlier in the thread. Hes gonna kill it but thats expected so while it doesnt hurt him, it doesnt help as much as it would if it were somewhat surprising. He can only hurt himself at the combine. The key is how the other top guys perform. If they dont test well it will help Greedy.

How good does that make Tyrone Prothro feel? Marcus Lattimore? Greedy did the smart thing. He made a good business decision.

Do you not remember Maurice Clarette and that USC WR suing the NFL to enter the draft and sitting out? How did that work for them?

You definitely sound like you’ve moved on. Sort of like how you moved on from Miles but still randomly flip your shite about him 3 years later

Keep toting that torch for your boy cuz it definitely is doing some good.

Jump high. And far.
Pump iron.
Take the iq test.

He will get to answer that in interviews.

In this case, I hope the Pats get him.
