Any one get anymore info on the bat confiscation?
The whole thing was just strange. Why all of a sudden stop the game to take a bat for inspection? What prompted this? The bat had previously been inspected and passed.

No

They're allowed to reinspect at any time. It had a flat spot.

Why just all of a sudden walk up and say I want to see that bat?

It's for the better. Omaha is using that bat to ice down drinks.

Either Freeman slammed it down on the dirt after getting out and someone noticed and wanted to check it, (which does not make a lot of sense, people throw bats around all the time)

or

the catcher noticed that it looked like it was dented/altered on the barrel during the at bat and reported it to his coach between the innings who then told the umpire to check the bat.

They announced during the game that the umpire thought the sound of the bat was a little off .. so he had it checked.

Ell, what do you think about the claim in the thread that infielder cooked their bat this season?

Must have gotten whacked. It was early in the game thread when they took Freeman's bat.

No, remember the announcer said they took it and locked it up in some room full of equipment. It's gone. Not to be used.

When the bat was handed off to the next batter it
probably raised some eyebrows

That was Kramer handing his bat to Freenan because they took Freeman's.

Thing about BBCOR composite bats, once they dent, they can shatter Much worse than a woodie. Its a safety thing, not a cheating thing. They'll take a plastic bag, and place it over the barrel and if there's some spacing between the taught bag, and the barrel its done.
