It didn't lose yards and there was a 0% chance Mettenberger was going to keep it. It was done because the defense was giving a certain look and they knew the pitch would be there.

I liked it. Mett tossed it forward which made it a pass. Not to mention the fact that Mett ran up the field before he pitched it unlike JJ who ran sideline to sideline.
