at the coaching search firm emailing Alleva. He highlighted that his group was helping Ray Tanner's search. That turned out really well
we dodged a bullet on that one.

If DA was verge, he would have been more sure of his information. You could tell DA was getting second hand info

Ok thanks, after this circus, nothing would surprise me. I was hoping to be mentioned in the emails.

So the leak is now getting credit for blowing the coach change?
Was that the leak's intent the whole time?

I am probably dead wrong but I think DALSU is Belowpar.
Belowpar doesn't work for LSU anymore. That's why he disappeared. He doesn't know anything.

This article is awesome.
Pretty much officially gives away that Alexander made the decision.

You do realize board members aren't just elected to search for new football coaches right? They run the entire LSU system, which, holy shite!, is a system of SCHOOLS! The board only selects two to three members to even deal with athletics as a side note. The other 90% of their time is spent figuring out how to make LSU a better school over all. So quit bitching about board members being worried about something other than football, you sound like an inbred bama fan.
It shows a severe non-understanding of the role/benefit of athletics for the university. A logical stance would be recognition of the fact that the general public cares more about football...and utilizing that fact to help fund the greater mission of the university.
His opinion is extremely short-sighted...and that's the last trait you want from someone on the board of supervisors.

See, e.g., the University of Alabama. It's leveraged football success into an explosion of OOS enrollment (and thus OOS tuition $$$). While a school like Texas or Florida can rely on large in-state populations to boost their academic credentials, states like Louisiana and Alabama don't have that luxury (or the luxury of a state government willing to adequately fund them).
Should we be funding professors and scholarships anyway? Of course. Will we? Nope. So we need to focus on turning football passion into classroom funding.

They are now dealing with their own state legislature's gripe that over 50% of enrollment is from OOS, and the retention rate of recent graduates in the state is poor. So the state's investment isn't paying off.
I understand there's a balance, LSU and Bama are on both extremes as it relates to this issue.
