FWIW, I have seen very few (if any) people in this thread "bashing" Dick Burleson.

The majority of people merely believe it's quite inappropriate for Burleson to be in the booth for any game involving the University of Alabama due to his ties to that state and the University.

Moreso, it is highly suspicious that his website is no longer existent. The timing is no coincidence. If there's nothing to be shameful or embarassed by, then why has his website disappeared? I doubt very seriously anyone is sending "death threats" to Burleson, as most reasonable people know that is not only inappropriate, but also illegal. That website was taken down because it was, at the very least, indicative of human bias.

Most aren't claiming Burleson is a cheater per se, only that it is irresponsible of the SEC to allow the human bias to even potentially influence the game.

Not trying to start anything, but curious as to who provided that information? I've not seen anything published, other than that drivel from the SEC.

'Dick' should have examined his participation before he went into that booth, especially with all of the questions being raised about officiating prior to last weekend. Even if there is nothing to all of this - the perception is quite negative.

maybe already mentioned, but because of the no call, Bama was able to kick a field goal, which covered the point spread

FWIW, I have seen very little evidence of direct Burleson ties with Alabama. There are the very loud and widespread rumors from Auburn sources, no refuting statements from the SEC, and nothing from Burleson. If there is not fire somewhere amongst the smoke, this thing has been horribly handled.

im sure dick and charles are telling the truth they have no reason to lie

having a guy with known bama ties grading your performance on a game and knowing that performance gets you money will influence calls even if mr. high character dick doesn't mean for it to. hodges sucked up and fricked LSU over. the sec just needs to admit and ban burleson from bama/auburn games

Yes, it's important to keep in mind, while some of the facts and their possible implications could be considered serious or questionable, a lot of this is poking fun at the Cartel for even having things set up that way in the first place.

Burleson is obviously an outstanding human being, American and Veteran, but that doesn't mean he's excused from placing himself in situations that could be construed as possible conflicts of interest. No one is.

The SEC needs to rethink many things. And sooner rather than later.
