Thanks for the link.

So, Devine THINKS we may be a little faster. PP THINKS they'll slow him down.

That may get you message board warriors fired up, but I doubt the players pay much attention to it. It ain't like LSU is going to run faster than they already do, just because an opponent said he THINKS we have better speed.

The only reason he came back for his senior year was to be the first person in his family with a college degree.

probably that and the fact that there isn't much demand for a 5'7" 170 pound running back in the NFL

I consider myself to be pretty sharp but you sure as sh*t wouldn't want me in your defensive backfield. I don't care how smart Patterson is, the kid can play and so can Devine.

I was responding to a question about PP's intelligence. Btw, I don't think anyone on this board said that Devine can't play. He most definitely can play. But I don't think that any would expect to see his name listed on the Academic Honor Roll list either.

It doesn't make him stupid for thinking it. It is pretty stupid to say it.

Like I said, thanks to Devine. Just in case the D needed a reason to play lights, this ought to help.

Why is it stupid to say? I'm sure he isn't the only one who isn't in fear of your almighty defense. Sorry. It is what it is. And if your defense needs that to play "lights-out", good luck. We'll play lights-out no matter what you say.

For being a team with such a good reputation, you guys sure are insecure. Wow!

the fact remains

WV seriously sacrifices size for speed/quickness. i'd hope that a bunch of 5-6 - 5-8 guys were quicker than our D

if they're not, this will be a slaughter

Well, where does PP rank in the smarts department?

P. Peterson could qualify and get into LSU. Devine could not.

Not many here won't respect the kid for picking himself up. Though it sounds like you want someone to say "Noel is going to wreak havoc on our D....look at where he comes from."

Not at all. What I'm saying is, the guy is a winner no matter what happens during a "football game" on Saturday night, or even the rest of the year.

Every team has a kid with a story, Devine's story is certainly worthy of .

However, shooting off your mouth about team speed when you are going to play one of the fastest Ds in the country, on the road, in one of the most hostile places in NCAA football...is, well, stupid. It's a stupid thing to do but that doesn't make him a stupid person.

I'd bet he wouldn't have done that if RR was still there.. in the end, that sort of thing is on the coach for allowing an environment to exist where such a thing is tolerated and, apparently, acceptable.

Devine will get his yards, not what he's used to, but he'll make some plays. The WV O line is in for beatdown, the undersized WRs will be hearing footsteps early in the game and the DBs are going to get some Ridley marks on their uniforms.

Keep talking smack 'Eers, it will make for some good material after the game.

WVU has seen plenty of defenses better than what LSU puts on the field this year

With Bill Stewart coaching, what defense has he seen better than what LSU has now?

Dont say OU because that wasnt his team or players you have currently, by any stretch.

the kid did come from absolute shite, and he's made something out of himself. i can't hate on the kid personally

he had a horrible situation as a kid, made really bad choices from 13-17, and has, apparently turned himself around while in morgantown

Isn't Devine from La.? maybe that is the source of his smack talk, being passed over by LSU!

Dude, get real. It's football. It's a freaking game of competition. It's fun. It's a break from all the chaos of the real world... it's a break from another day of US troops getting killed in Afghanstan, or someone losing another job, or another person you know having cancer. If there is one place you CAN shoot your mouth off, it's football. Have at it. You want to get so offended because another player thinks his team is faster than yours? Are you serious???
