I actually called the fake fg play when I was watching it at schlitz.

No way! Nostradomus couldn't have called that one!

Jumped off my couch when I saw that! LOVED IT!

Haven't checked into the Rant in a few weeks, but I'm pulling for LSU all the way! Hope you guys start taking it easy on your coach.

Hopefully WVU can keep winning, which only makes you look better too.

:geauxtigers:
If you're not aware, Bill had his press conference yesterday. You can view it at the following link: BILL'S TUESDAY PRESS CONFERENCE

Although I haven't finished it, he's highly complementary of Peterson at the 10min mark, and overall speaks highly of LSU when the subject is brought up.

Go Mountaineers!

And... :geauxtigers:
Hey thanksjhester... it's been great. Thanks bro! I'll be pulling for ya and stopping back from time to time!

LSU was one careless Noel Devine play of losing last night's game

Dude.... just about every championship team in every sport in the world is "one careless play" away from not being a champion. So what? That's how the game is played. And BTW, there's a reason that careless play never happened - your defense!

That is a very astute and beautiful piece of writing. Thank you for posting it here on the Rant.

I through a dig at you on another thread yesterday. I was just having fun, but it was probably rude. My apologies.

I have always admired WVU football and would love to see a game in Morgantown and am going to try to make it to the LSU game there next year!

No problem at all! Keep giving hell to the fans of the other team. It's football! The unwritten rule of the rant - Thick skin and a sense of humor is REQUIRED!

Could not agree more. My 8-year-old daughter was with me for her first game. Embarrassment doesn't even begin to describe my feelings. You will have people on this board endlessly rationalize it. It's a business. I pay good money. Blah blah blah. It's pathetic and there's no getting around it.

That's pretty lame. Because you paid money gives you the right to be selfish with your own feelings and embarrass the hell out of your team on national TV? As of the booing is going to help anything anyway? Lame. It's not about "them". It's about representing your school, not yourself. And you don't represent your school by booing it on national TV in front of the world to see - no matter how much you paid for a ticket.

we boo'd Miles and maybe Jefferson but no one else.

Got it. But my point is - the perception of non-LSU fans watching the game... it almost seemed like you were booing your own team. It's pretty crappy. You really need to stop.

Thanks, man. The WV folks on here have been a lot of fun, and I hope many of you stick around.

I agree about the boo-ing. I don't see what it accomplishes other than make players feel like their fans are against them. As for Miles, it might be difficult to see from an outsider's perspective, but our talent is carrying our lack of coaching. Keep watching and you'll come to the same conclusion.

Well, from an outsider's perspective. You beat WVU on more than just raw talent. I mean, your guys didn't just walk out there and "wing it". Someone is responsible for the game planning and preparation that stopped WVU. That would be your coaching staff. And another perspective - you haven't lost yet.

Almost losing will not be tolerated!

Hey, I don't know if you're being sarcastic or not, but at the end of the day, there's only two options: you either win or lose. The teams that win, ugly or not, move on and do great things. This world is full of NFL teams that "almost lost" playoff games and Super Bowls. Full of college programs that "almost lost" national championship games. And the list goes on and on.... but what's common theme? Although they "almost lost" - they DIDN'T! And that's why they are CHAMPIONS today!

YUCK! The taste of losing sucks!

All LSU fans, here's my take of the game: WVU played a team that was much better than they were.

I am a believer in your defense. Although, I do think a few teams will pick up some scores on you because we probably had the worst offensive line you'll face this year. That's the truth.

Although you fail to see it, I'm actually a believer in your offense. I just feel like they're still trying to figure their identity out. You guys endlessly complain about your QB and offense, sorry... I don't get it. Sure, you're not putting up crazy numbers, but that is one determined group of young men you have. The eyes of your QB are very strong and competitive. And eventhough he threw some bad passes, he wasn't afraid to keep slinging the ball around. Dude wants to WIN and win BIG! Your running backs are the real deal. Ridley runs downhill hard - actually great to watch as long as it's not against your team ;)

In a nutshell, LSU was simply more talented, better prepared, and outcoached WVU. It really is that simple. And as much as I'm proud of them for not giving up, the score could have been much worse in LSU's favor. Sometimes, you can keep fighting as much as you want, but if you're playing a team that is simply better, what can do you do?

I know there's a lot of people who do not like Miles. I don't get it. Get off the guy. I mean... at least wait for him to start losing before you jump down his throat. In your mind, you won "ugly", but come on! Do you know how many other teams in college football would die to be in your position? Give Miles a fighting chance! He's WINNING. Do you have any idea how much of a mess it can be bringing in a new coach with a new system? Trust me, you'll lose a few games and then start questioning the hiring decision. It never ends. But at this point, give Miles a chance!

Booing. Sorry fellas... that looked really bad on TV. If I was a potential recruit, I think I would be considering other teams. I mean, I'm not sure if you're booing your QB, head coach, offensive coordinator, or whoever... but the point is... it "looks" like you're booing your own team. I know you guys are the most passionate fans in the country, so it's somewhat understandable... but come on... you've gotta cut that crap out!

So please... you won. You can always talk about room for improvement, but your QB is a fighter, and your coach has a burning desire to win. Why don't you get behind them and be supportive!

BTW, that's only for those who are giving them a hard time... not for those who are not.

Overall... it's been a great week on the Rant. Wish WVU would have made it more exciting for ya, but there's no doubt the better team won. Hope next year the WVU fans can return the great treatment your fans gave. For the rest of the year, you'll have one Mountaineer pulling for ya to go the distance! And as crazy as some of you may think that sounds, your defense will make sure you have a chance to win every game!

Adios!

What????!??!?! OF COURSE WVU benefits more!

That's 15 extra minutes for LSU fans to drink themselves silly!

You do. The Rant is full of them!
I keep hearing about the OT, but there's no well in hell I'll click on that link! If The Rant is THIS ADDICTING... I can't possibly imagine what the hell is going on in OT!

The Rant is like Cocaine.... OT must be like throwing in some Heroin. I'm not ready to make that move yet!

You'll never leave. Ask the 50+ Ohio State regulars that can't get over the 07 loss. I guess we kinda have you and Pitt to thank for that

That wouldn't be good. You can't imagine how unproductive I've been all week! I'll end up broke and homeless if I can't step away from this place!
LSU fans... over the past several days, I have spent endless hours in a zombified state on the rant like a crackhead roaming the streets for another hit.

When I first came here, I thought you fans were the most arrogant and ignorant fans in America. But I must say, the Rant grew on me, and I began to see LSU fans as some of the most wildly passionate fans in America. I used to think LSU was treated like royalty within the conference, but I now get the feeling they're more like a "black sheep"... like a party-crasher in the SEC that gets under the skin of those more snobby SEC teams. After arguing like hell with most of you for days, I began to understand the unwritten rule for The Rant - Thick skin and a sense of humor is REQUIRED!

Regardless of who wins this game, I'm now a closest LSU fan, and will be pulling for you guys the rest of the year. Next time you're on TV, instead of flipping the channel, I'll actually enjoy watching because I know how important that game means to those countless, intensly crazy fans on The Rant, and I know how much those other SEC fans are rooting against you.

Trust me, I hope my Mountaineers make believers out of you tonight, but I have mad respect for the LSU fans and team. Thanks for letting me part of The Rant for the past week!

Ha. Well, sure hope LSU wins for your sake. Would suck if the almighty LSU was nothing but a cupcake's bitch this year.
