That's not how it reads to me at all. It reads to me like commit yourself to playing the game everyday because there may not be a tomorrow, and if you really want to play in this league, you can't but committed one day an non-committed the next. I think he is throwing a little shade at guys who sit out for months at a time and think they can just turn the switch back on whenever and be ready to go.

I think I'm ready to say Devin White is my favorite tiger of all time.

Weird. I read take care of yourself as GTFO as fast as you can and make that money.

Devin used to check on the younger linebackers in their classes like an assistant coach. What a great leader

This is why this guy has a jersey hanging in my man cave. Tough SOB and an amazing leader.
Arguably my second favorite Tiger.

I believe he really was close to coming back for his senior year.
It might have cost Joe the Heisman if he did. Joking obviously but he would have been a game changer on defense and they wouldn’t have needed to score as much.

THIS! Can't overstate how much a player like DW means to LSU.

The arse hurt kids who all think “I’m ready bro” is sad. I just hope they actually go back and finish school when they don’t make a roster.
So many kids simply don’t value a college degree. It’s all business now

I'm 73 years old and if I had a choice to play or opt out, I would play. I'm the one at risk here. They don't understand that you can never get this year back. This virus will get you at parties. or meeting someone in the hallway, not on the playing field. This will be a bad decision that will follow them to the grave. I know about this. I have regrets every day.

I completely agree. You talk to retired football players and they all say the most enjoyable times they had playing the game were in high school and college. All the money you make in the NFL can't give you the relationships or emotional connection to your teammates or schools. The NFL is strictly business and doesn't care who you are. Sadly, most people don't realize this until years down the road and most wish they could have it back.

You’re a different breed E. It’s not about anything but the dollar for most of these kids now. It’s very rare thing to see a kid delay that or risk that bc the college experience is viewed as that important. It’s all about business now.
Look at recruiting, how often do you hear a kid say, “you know I just always dreamed of playing at good old state U.”
It’s all about development, facilities, exposure, etc
I agree with you but what you’re describing is a rarely held perspective and that’s unfortunate

Chase is a first rounder. He’s making a business decision.
Others are making personal health decisions. DW is correct—Everyone’s situation is different, as are the reasons for their decisions.
Nothing earth shattering here
