If the start goes well Hess needs to get in Mainieri's face and make him pitch him. Hess threw 60 pitches and has 2 days rest. He's good to go.

LSU can certainly make it through this game with Fontenot, Hess, and Ripoll if the bats stay hot.

Which means if the game is close Hess will pitch. As we've seen the pitchers basically already tell Mainieri what he needs to do which means Hess will want to pitch.

I wonder why PM is treating Peterson more delicately than some of his other key pieces. Not pitching the entire rest of the week is quite a bubble wrap
