I posted some of these in another thread, but I think it's worthwhile to put together the details and timelines surrounding each of the cases mentioned in the USA Today article. Some of these are lacking any detail in the article, and some are lacking specific details that have been reported elsewhere. There are nine players mentioned in the article. The focus is on two, Derrius Guice and Drake Davis. The Guice allegations are pretty well-documented at this point, so here are summaries of the other eight players:

LSU confirmed no disciplinary action had been taken (4 players):

Grant Delpit
- According to the USA Today article, Delpit was accused of recording a woman during sex without her knowledge and sharing the video with others.
- The article states that LSU confirmed no disciplinary actions were taken. (Note that this could mean he was cleared.)
- Delpit’s attorney says he was not aware of any Title IX investigation until contacted by USA Today.
- No arrests were made, nor were any charges filed.

Zach Sheffer
- The USA Today article states that Sheffer was accused of rape, with no other details.
- The article states that LSU confirmed no disciplinary actions were taken. (Note that this could mean that he was cleared.)
- No arrests were made, nor were any charges filed.

Jacob Phillips
- The USA Today article states that Phillips was accused of rape, with no other details.
- The article states that LSU confirmed no disciplinary actions were taken. (Note that this could mean that he was cleared.)
- No arrests were made, nor were any charges filed.

Tae Provens
- March 21, 2019: Provens enters the transfer portal. He has not participated in spring practices to this point, and does not participate any any team activities after this point.
- March 24, 2019: (According to police reports) Provens starts having sex with a woman at his apartment around 2 AM who is blackout drunk. She tells him no, he stops, then continues. Then the girl escapes, gets dressed, and leaves with her friend.
- March 27, 2019: Provens arrested on charges of third degree rape.
- March 27, 2019: The arrest and incident are reported in news articles. LSU releases a statement saying that a Title IX investigation will be carried out after completion of the law enforcement “component.”
- Provens never rejoined the team. As far as I can tell, he withdrew from school after the incident.
- Court case still pending.
- According to USA Today article, LSU confirmed that no disciplinary action was taken. The article does not mention that Provens left the team, nor does it elaborate on how LSU can discipline someone who isn’t a student or athlete.

LSU confirmed disciplinary action HAD been taken (2 players):

Peter Parrish
- January 23, 2020: A woman accuses Parrish of taking advantage of her at a Tigerland bar. She reports this to Residential Life.
- February 4, 2020: Parrish is informed that a Title IX investigation has been initiated.
- February 6, 2020: Parrish is suspended indefinitely.
- March 11, 2020: Orgeron announces in a press conference that Parrish has been suspended indefinitely for violating team rules.
- June 18, 2020: Parrish files a lawsuit in federal court challenging his suspension.
- July 30, 2020: Parrish’s lawsuit is dismissed.
- August 6, 2020: Parrish transfers to Memphis.
- No charges were ever filed, nor were any arrests made, though this is not mentioned in the USA Today article.

Drake Davis
- January 2017: Davis starts dating a women’s tennis player.
- May 2017: The woman says she told a (tennis) team athletic trainer, Donavon White, that Davis punched her in the stomach during an argument. (White later tells police he did not learn about the abuse until April 2018.)
- Summer 2017: The woman’s father told tennis coach Mike Sell that Davis punched his daughter. (Mike and Julia sell later told police they did not learn about the abuse until June 2018.)
- April 14, 2018: Davis tells Verge Ausberry in a text message that he got into a physical altercation with the woman, and that they had punched each other. The article does not indicate whether Ausberry reported the text message (LSU declined to answer).
- April 25, 2018: The woman tells White, senior athletic trainer Micki Collins, and senior associate A.D. Segar that Davis punched her in the ribs. Segar files a Title IX report (according to a later police report).
- May 21, 2018: The woman is interviewed by Title IX investigator Jeffrey Scott.
- June 18, 2018: Davis enters the woman’s apartment drunk, hits her, and strangles her. The police are called around 2 AM. The police separate them but make no arrests (both Davis and the woman say the argument had not turned physical).
- July 11, 2018: Davis called in for an interview with Jonathan Sanders, who runs LSU’s student judicial affairs. Mickey Joseph attends the meeting as well. They discuss the June 18 incident, and Davis says the argument did not turn physical. The woman corroborates that claim two weeks later.
- Summer 2018 (exact timing unknown): Davis banned from offseason workouts.
- August 4, 2018: Davis participates in the team’s first practice according to news reports.
- August 16, 2018: The woman shows Segar photos of bruises and scratches, as well as threatening text messages. Segar calls campus police, who arrested Davis and charged him with felony dating violence. Davis is indefinitely suspended from the team.
- September 16, 2018: Davis arrested again. He withdraws from the university the following day.
- March 2019: Davis pleads guilty to two batteries and violating a protective order.

LSU would not confirm or deny whether disciplinary action had been taken, citing privacy concerns (2 players):

Ray Parker
- September 9, 2020: Arrested for felony damage to property and misdemeanor battery
- September 9, 2020: Suspended indefinitely from football team
- September 10, 2020: News articles reported arrest/suspension (suspension confirmed by LSU)
- Court case still pending
- According to USA Today article, LSU did not “confirm or deny” whether disciplinary action had been taken. The article makes no mention of the fact that Parker was suspended indefinitely and is not listed on the roster currently.

Davon Godchaux
- September 26, 2016: Godchaux arrested on charges of domestic abuse battery and child endangerment after an altercation with his girlfriend, with whom he had a child. The girlfriend attempted to leave the apartment with the child during an argument, and Godchaux would not let her leave. Police noted that both Godchaux and his girlfriend had cuts/bruises, and they also issued the girlfriend a summons for domestic abuse battery and child endangerment.
- September 26, 2016: Incident and arrest are reported by WBRZ. LSU confirms that Godchaux is suspended indefinitely from the team.
- September 27, 2016: Baton Rouge DA Hillar Moore states that all charges have been dropped following completion of EBRSO’s investigation.
- September 28, 2016: Ed Orgeron confirms that Godchaux will be returning to the team.
- As far as I can tell, it is unclear whether Godchaux’s girlfriend was an LSU student.
- According to USA Today article, LSU did not confirm or deny whether any disciplinary actions were taken against Godchaux. The article makes no mention of the charges being dropped, or his temporary suspension during the EBRSO investigation.

Let’s just say the program was canceled after 2019 and ended at the apex

I am willing to bet if you break down most football programs “suspended indefinitely for violation of team rule” it would be very similar to all that.

Doesn’t make any of it right at all but I don’t think LSU is any different than other schools.

Calm down, this story exits nowhere else to the extent it does here. News cycle moves fast.

What sensationalist journalism doesn't reveal is which (if any) of the accused were cleared.

I'm not going to excuse sexual assault. But if the author of the article is a true journalist and not an activist with an agenda, fairness would dictate that those who had been cleared should have been noted.

Sexual assault is a serious matter. So is clearing those innocent of the accusation.

Most if not all players were suspended. And most players transferred out or were kicked off the team

Sheffer left the team pretty quick, no reason ever given.
My guess is this had something to do with it.

Phillips case - go check old Tigerdroppings because I remember this one was discussed pretty frequently when it happened, he was cleared at some point.

Ingram would be another one but that case went through courts and he was suspended until resolved by courts

The case by case breakdown honestly makes it look better to me.

Still not good, but better.

One of the coauthors (Jessica Luther, @burnitdownpod on twitter) is a feminist activist and USAToday definitely has a vendetta. It's 100% a hit piece

Good info. I’ll have to dive into those two, if I can get more supporting info I’ll add it to the OP.

Phillips case was investigated by police and case was dropped because they found out it was his ex gf and she had made it up

These types of articles always go after the biggest targets.

I bet if we went 6-6 in 2019 this shite wouldn't have even been written.

The article also fails to address the fact that even if Provens was still a student and/or athlete at LSU that because the criminal case is still pending, they can't investigate the Title IX case. And, given that he is no longer a student or student-athlete, what exactly would be the point? What's the relief the school could provide to this girl? They can't kick Provens out of school because he's no longer in school. They're not a court of law, so they can't provide her with a monetary award. But they just glazed the frick over that tidbit of information because it didn't fit the narrative of the article.

Furthermore, the Delpit, Phillips, and Sheffer stuff is bullshite. They provided no proof, no documentation, no source, nothing. She just called them rapists to bolster her article. If I were them, I'd be preparing a lawsuit against the reporter and USA Today for printing that story without verifying the information in the story.

The entire article was a gross misrepresentation to try to make Guice's situation applicable to every incident that has occurred over the past 5 years. It's disgusting.
