1. What actual evidence is there that 11/19 has been discussed, apart from hack ESPN reporters and a southern Alabama rep stating that he has not been contacted about cancelling their game?
2. On what authority can the SEC force LSU to breach their contract with South Alabama on 11/19?
3. Should Florida or the SEC attempt to force this garbage on us, I would expect LSU to file a MASSIVE lawsuit against the SEC, with the city/parish and state AG's office as co-plaintiffs.
4. The real question is: does Florida stand to forfeit their game-cancellation insurance money if a) they refused the available alternate dates, times, and locations that LSU offered well in advance of the originally scheduled game, and b) the game is not made-up by a willful participant (LSU)? If so, that would suggest that the SEC's insistence of making up the game is motivated by florida's financial interests, without regard to LSU's? If so, and I can't believe I'm gonna suggest this, LSU should immediately leave the conference (and file a massive lawsuit).
5. The fact of the matter is that, by allowing Florida to dictate that the game be cancelled, the SEC only wants the game to be played in order to avoid becoming liable for allowing them to potentially beat Tennessee in the SECe standings. Aside from that, there are ultimately no real implications if the game is not made up.
6. Due to their massive TV agreements, ESPN and the SEC have vested financial interests in each other. Only if and when LSU is painted as petulant for not rescheduling does the SEC not take a hit to their credibility. If the SEC's credibility is shaken, then that devalues the > $1 billion dollar TV deal.

Why not just say we will play the game on 10/29 in Gainesville and if THEY don't agree to it, then THEY forfeit?
I believe we have an opening on our schedule then.
jeez, fella, because UF plays Georgia that day!! You want Georgia to have to rearrange their schedule too???
The reason Nov. 19 works is that we both play OOC teams. Yes, we'd have to buy them out (actually we should demand that the SEC buy them out) but it wouldn't affect the rest of the conference.
Do I like all of this? Hell no, we got hosed by Foley and Sankey. But it's the way it is and Nov. 19 is the best option.

The problem I have with what Desmond said, is this.
1) He mentions "You have to play with the cards that have been dealt."
Then why in the ever living frick was this not the attitude last week?
2) The commissioner needs to step in an make an authoritative decision, basically telling LSU "tough fricking luck".
Again, where was this last week?
Desmond has no idea what he is talking about, and his ignorance on the subject is mind blowing for him to come out and make a statement like that.
Florida absolutely did not want to play that game, and the SEC allowed them to avoid playing it.
LSU is the only party in all of this that made good faith efforts to play this game when it was supposed to played.
frick everyone else.

If I were LSU, I would just play USA as scheduled and forfeit the UF game. Who cares? We are not going to be playing for the Western Division title. If it fricks Tennessee, which I think it will, then too bad.
At least two-thirds of the conference can be severely affected by hurricanes, yet the SEC office has not written contingency plans for games affected by them? This is on them, not the individual schools. After the SEC, it should be the home teams responsibility to see that they game gets played either at their play or somewhere else. It is not the responsibility of the visiting team to suggest the solutions.

Really? Where would we go? The Big 12? So we can have road trips to Manhatten, KS, Lawrence, Aimes, Lubbock, and Stillwater? When Waco is in the top tier of conference road trips, that's a hard pass for me.
Now, imagine:
LSU
WV
Baylor
TCU
Texas
Texas Tech
Oklahoma
Ok St
Kansas
K-St
Iowa St
BYU
Unless BYU is a permanent cross-division rival, that is a lot of shitty road trips every year.

It is written in the league rules that once a game has been postponed the two schools have to work it out. The powers that be can't do anything about it. That being said, I think Desmond is an arrogant dick.

It doesn't work. Monday night, 10/10 worked. We told y'all that last week. UF said no.
What're ya gonna do?
If Foley really wanted this game played, he would have come up with a solution.
Apparently he didn't.

Yes, Y'ALL did. Don't drag one of LSU'S few home games into this shite pile.

Not for LSU it isn't, pick another date.
LSU has offered SEVERAL dates, with MULTIPLE venues, Florida has only suggested one date and one place.
You'll have to do better than that, Florida. LSU tried to negotiate in good faith, you blew it, now the good faith is gone. That's what happens.

That lil Squirrel , he needs to do his homework before he starts running his mouth.

He's (Desmond) the kinda dude that would want the labor board to look at LSU for playing 3 games in 12 days and say that the players should boycott... Yet thats what he's asking LSU to do. What a fool !!
Just give Florida a pass for doing everything in there power to NOT PLAY THE GAME. LSU tried to negotiate in good faith, you blew it, now the good faith is gone.
What a joke these dudes are (Desmond Sankey and Foley) !!!

If Tennessee happens to lose this weekend, do we really think Florida will be itching to play this game at any time. Doubt it. Then it will be "well, we don't want to inconevience south alabama or Presbyterian so we will just keep those games on the schedule."

Ok, but I'm LSU, not Florida. I'm not them, I'm us.

Desmond needs a few more speech classes to be taken seriously on a subject more deep than a button hook or fly pattern.

Some of you have to be trolling (or following the troll) with the shite I see posted on here lately.

We are going to get screwed in this, so our only option to feel better is to go to that shite hole that is Gainsville and beat the ever living shite out of them. Really, really humiliate them.

LSU is not leaving the SEC... not over 1 game in 1 sport. Especially with a 2 loss unranked football team. Take the lumps and keep it moving. Even when we win out we are not leaving the premier conference.

I think they clearly understand and ESPN is going to drive this narrative. Remember, ESPN is the SEC network and they will work this for their benefit.

Florida ain't playing that with LSU, maybe the would on dec 10th. Foley screwed the sec. Lol
